i had mine done at big bert's, costing 1,400 and had my bumper, hood, headlyt, tail lyt film protected at foil-a-car, to protect against stone chips on hiway. there will be a loss of "shinyness" though when the transparent sticker is applied

Sorry to be a little ignorant. may i ask how is paint protected being applied? parang buffing/waxing lang ba or spray clear paint talaga?

karl: minsan the plant imposes whatever they can economically produce. Minsan rin masama talaga ang forecast ng M.I.

AFAIK there are only two models the 2.0L and 2.5L that are both AT. Other countries have more than two variants.

Colors that sold well for the past 5 years may not sell as much today because the auto design does not look good in the best selling colors.

But I gotta agree the white and silver look epic kaso haba ng pila. I dont mind the less popular color.

I see sir. I made my reservation first week of April, have already told my agent I'm getting one last week of March. And they still couldn't commit a unit to me up to now. Are you getting in-house insurance sir?

Only the Subaru Forester among the small CUVs tested passed the new IIHS crash test

Five SUVs flunk new IIHS tests, but not Subaru

I did not get in-house insurance. mahal kasi. I think mas mahirap sa manila to get a unit kasi mas mahaba ang waiting list. dito sa amin I was told pang 3rd daw pero when I made a downpayment I was inform i will get the next unit agad. I also believed they always say may waiting list ang pearl white para some will get other colors. pero in reality short lang talaga ang list.

But the Subaru is one of the few who got a "good" rating sa small frontal offset test. I think the only other small SUV to get the good rating sa same test is the Volvo XC60.

The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (known as the ASX here), is also one of those who passed, but only got a "fair" rating. Then Toyota doesn't even want to put their new RAV4 to this test kasi they are "preparing" the car pa daw.

So, if there's anything we could get from these results, it is that when a Subaru and a Volvo collides, the world is gonna end. (except for those inside the cars)

Not really sure if the XC60 passed, as the article only talked about 2 out of 13 small CUVs passed, which was the Forester (good rating) and the Outlander (acceptable rating). Here's the press release from the website of IIHS including a video of the crash tests plus interviews. You can see the result below of how the driver's space was still intact with the Forester vs the Nissan Rogue below

    IIHS news release

EDIT: Found a list of all those that passed the small overlap test and earning the Top Safety Pick+ from Yahoo

The Forester and Outlander Sport join these previous models that have earned the Top Safety Pick+ designation: Acura TL, Chrysler 200, Dodge Avenger, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord coupe and sedan, Honda Civic coupe and sedan, Kia Optima, Lincoln MKZ, Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback, Suzuki Kizashi, Volkswagen Passat, Volvo S60, and Volvo XC60.

Yup, small overlap is an important often times neglected part of most car makers. Toyota Camry failed miserably in this. So is a Toyota Prius V.

Small overlap is a simulation when your overtaking skills went short. KABOOM!!!

Someone mentioned that we are a Subaru family and here is a good reason why.

“For three years running, Subaru is the only automotive manufacturer with the distinction of earning IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK awards for every model it builds,” said Institute president Adrian Lund. “It’s tough to win, and we commend Subaru for making safety a top priority.”
