It's not required naman to get in house but they would prefer you do. I got mine at 32k ata or 33k, that was the quote i got outside kasi then MI matched the offer just so i'd get their in house insurance. Which i eventually did.

Yeah I noticed that too sir, if you start the car in the morning, immediately reset the Trip Meter, and start moving, after about 1 kilometer, I'd see the FC reading at around 18l/100km. However, if I don't reset the Trip Meter and only reset it when I start moving, after 1 kilometer it would be at around 14l/100km.

I think that 1 min of idling during the morning really drinks fuel too, but I also think it has something to do with the Trip Meter being at 0km din, so it is not averaging anything, it is just drinking fuel. During stop and go traffic or idling in parking kasi, you already have some kilometers run so it is already averaging your FC to the km run.

I thought my city driving of 5km/L is the worst, you beat me with your 3.5km/L
For the sake of everyone I hope nobody beats that 3.5km/l I got

my lifetime FC is 14.9L/100km, for 3500kms travelled. 6.71km/L
Haven't checked my lifetime FC yet but I think it should be around the same. My mistake was I didn't reset the lifetime FC when I got the car, so it literally started at 50l/100km. But I think in the long run it gets averaged out rin naman. Hard to improve upon the lifetime FC kasi lahat ng idling, parking, morning starts, stop and go sakop nya.

My current tank (2nd tank so far) is averaging 7km++. Magpapagas palang ako this weekend for my 3rd tank.

    Thanks Jeff. Looking forward.

BTW anong gas ang pinapakarga mo? I'm thinking since I'm using the 2.0il I tried using the SHELL fuel save unleaded. I know XT requires 95 Octane. Shell
unleaded I think goes around 93 octane? So far it's ok. Had half full tank 2 days ago in Bicol. Then did a full tank today.

I use Petron XCS eh boss arman. I'm nearing 1,000 km na now and my lifetime fc reading is at 8.7 km/l na (not as high before).. Though i read somewhere na the fc should get better daw when it surpasses the 3,000km mark...

Nasa 1,500 na yung unit ko. This was because of the bicol trip. My Average FC using manual compute Mixed City 8.2. Provincial Highway is 10.50. Pure City I'm getting 5-6KM/L only. I do hope the 3,000 KM mark is true, but I'm kind of accepting na that this is the real deal. Recently I inflated the tires to 32psi(HOT) .
Subaru recommends 29 front and 28 on the rear. I'm thinking that this may improved the FC.

BTW i saw in one post that flyaudio is a good unit for our subie. It's available daw sa mickeys and autokozmetix sa Ortigas Home Depot. Will probably visit
their shop and see for my self.

Hmm i know even for the 2.0iL MI recommends 95 Octane rating and up eh. Not sure if it'll make much of a diff but try mo kaya to switch gasolines?

Let me know how it goes with the flyaudio as well

To owners of 2014 Forester, what color did you get or for those who's planning to get one, what color would you get?

Do you recommend getting an AVT back-up camera? I think it costs 60K?

    Thanks!

My first choice was the pearl white, but line was too long. next was silver, but the color isn't available too.

Since I didn't want to wait I got the dark grey metallic. I'm happy with my choice. it's not too hard to maintain as others would say.

    Subaru owners,
How's the resale value of the Forester compared to RAV4s? Which is easier to maintain overall? Thank you all in advance

With TOyota you dont have to convince ppl to buy. Subaru's a new brand and such people at the secondary market may take more effort to convince to buy.

Why is white such in demand now?

Btw i talked to my SA, if we upgrade the HU with back up cam, it must be their authorized audio supplier which is ATV so warranty will not be void.

The void warranty will just be on the HU right? Or for the whole vehicle warranty?

Personally I prefered my Forester in white even if I got mine in dark grey metallic. Just unwilling to wait that long.

So does ATV offer Pioneer/Kenwood? Looking to upgrade to AppRadio 3.

Guys, to those who drive the XT, have you noticed that the CVT doesn't like to be rushed? I came from a 5-speed conventional automatic, and the way to drive it is to just mash the pedal, the engine will rev, and the power comes along. But here on the CVT of XT, even if you rev the engine high and quick, the power is not as quick to follow. But if you dont mash the pedal, and gradually just press on it, "alalay" lang to gradually increase the rev, the power is more readily available. Am i the only one noticing this? im already on my 4,200kms and im still trying to make the best out of the CVT and Turbo combination

Yes sir I think this is one of those characteristics that some reviewers didn't like with the CVT. The power is there, but it is being given gradually, which is why the feeling of "oomph" is somewhat lost compared to the previous Forester. Here, the acceleration is more linear, smoother, less jerky.

I actually like it this way, it's more comfortable for me and my passengers, they won't notice it but next thing you know you're already driving at >140km/h and need to slow down. What I usually do lang is if I need the power, I switch to Sports mode, then downshift manually using the paddleshifts (I love that you can still use the paddleshifts without going to Manual mode), and mash on the pedal. Once it goes it can get really fast it's just that you don't feel the power as much as when you are driving an automatic

The white does really look good on the Forester, plus it's a pearl white color, which other dealers like Toyota charge an additional premium for. I think if it was just a regular white, it wouldn't have such a long line. In any case, I think the Dark Grey Metallic looks pretty good too, and the Jasmine Green color looks great in person as well.

Sir do you mean AVT (http://www.avt.ph/)? IMO, AVT HUs look very similar to China HUs, which are only selling for 10-20k online. If they are selling these HUs + backup camera for 60k, that would be too steep. I'd rather get a Pioneer 8500 or Appradio 3. Problem is the warranty though, maybe dealers like Subaru gets a cut from AVT kaya ganon kataas ang price and kaya sila accredited.
