Hmmmm. Seems I cannot change the Headunit as it sends data/signals to the vehicle LCD monitor on top of it. In this case, its sending the Song Details from my phone's Bluetooth Audio playback. If I do change the Headunit, I would lose that functionality. In anycase, the sound system sounds good and aside from the lack of Video playback and GPS it ticks all the boxes.

Im finding more ways to enjoy driving this car. I leave it on Sport # and also on M mode in the transmission lever. Fun. I tried accelerating at the normal 'I' Intelligent mode.... the CVT just held the red line all the way. Reminds me of the old CVT Jazz.

It handles big village humps very well... even if youre taking the humps at above average speed. The brakes could use a little bit more bite and they kinda fade quickly so that's something to keep in mind when thrashing it about. Or maybe its because its too easy to hit triple digit speeds in this car and scrubbing off all that speed takes a lot of work.

Consumer Reports ranks the Forester as #1 in small-SUV category. Too bad di natin mabasa yung full report without a membership

Yes sir if you change the HU you will lose the LCD visual functionality for the radio, but IMO, if you change your HU to an LCD one with 6-7" screen, you won't need that small LCD to show radio/ipad details at all, and can have it show better info such as fuel mileage, turbo boost, etc

Ang panget lang sa HU replacement for me is hindi standard 2-din size yung HU ng subaru, it is actually wider, so you need a special panel para mag fit ng maganda. Sample pic from other forums

I wonder if the casa will be able to ensure a clean removal of the tint down the line? Removing the tint at the back is a pretty sure way to wreck the defogger. What particular model of 3m, ST?

it's quite reassuring to know that the car we bought is very safe for us and our passengers (family), besides the fact that it is also one of the quickest small SUV out there. Though the only downside is the not-so-good fuel consumption.

maybe 6-7 km/liter city driving. But with my lead foot most likely 6 . Will post after a month or so when I have more mileage to get a good average. The smaller engine displacement and the CVT helps. I've heard others say they can do 8 km/liter city.

Yeah Uly of Carguide got around 8.3km/l city on his 4 day test with the XT. The 2.0i NA model should do better. The 2.5 NA version in other countries are doing really well, it got 26mpg (11km/l) from Consumer Reports and even got a combined 30mpg (12.75km/l) on TFL's test

Sir when you are in the highway, what speed and RPM are you usually cruising at? I heard at around 60mph it's just under 2k RPM.

6-7 km/L on city driving conditions with an AWD 240hp 2.0L turbocharged performance-oriented vehicle is more than good enough. Just imagine getting the same FC figures from a smaller car with a smaller engine and an uninspiring ride.

pag provincial hiway kasi e you have to constantly slow down and speed up kasi meron dyang mga bus, dyip, tricyle, then u have to overtake. i think kung intelligent mode, pasok yung 60mph * 2000rpm

are you talking about the 2.4 CRV? although that has a bigger engine, with less power, heard it's FC is on par or worse, have a friend with 2013 CRV 2.4

Could also be a lot of other 2-liter compacts haha. Our 2.0 Altis before did roughly 6-7 km/L traffic and that had much less power and a ride that wallowed too much.

The 2nd gen CRV do have bad FC issues (as per a lot of inputs here in Tsikot) but not so sure about the newer generations. There are compacts which get around the same figures - Optra, Lynx (AT), and Lancer Cedia are among the few. There are even some complaints on bad FC on the smaller Accent (gas) and Rio. My 6th gen Accord (2.3L AT) averages around 6-7 km/L on my normal daily route but I am not complaining. So, if I do get myself a Forester XT or Legacy GT (drooling over both ) in the near future, I will not be surprised with the FC.

You'll be indeed one happy owner in the future, upgrading to a more powerful car and getting the same FC i came from a 2006 civic 2.0, getting around 7.5to7.75 km/L combined hiway and city my worst FC upon fill up, 37.14L on 203.6kms, mano mano compute was 5.48km/L, trip computer 17.2L/100kms. Let's see if sir EQAddict can beat that on 1 full tank in the future hehe

I am driving a 2006 RAV4 right now and I am averaging 5.5km/l. And that is very few traffic lang since I use south super highway or skyway oftentimes and I rarely do WOT, just relaxed driving. I used to own a Lynx Ghia AT and was getting around 6-7km/l.

So when I get my XT (hopefully tomorrow) I would be more than contented to get 7km/l considering the upgrade in power, AWD, etc that I will be getting

Finally got my XT last night sir after almost 2 months of waiting Before leaving the dealer, they checked the tire pressure for me na without me asking them. They set it at 30 all wheels daw, even though and recommended is 32 front and 30 back according to them.

I also asked them about the power lift gate already, remembering that you couldn't set the desired height and I think I know already how to do it. In case you guys still don't know, what they did was while the driver was inside the car, all doors closed, you press the power liftgate open button at the dash board. When the lift gate opens, you have to time pressing the "Memory Height" button exactly when you want it to stop. So if you want the memory set at halfway open, while the liftgate is opening, when it reaches midway, press the memory button and it will stop there. That means you have saved that height as the desired setting already. To reset, all you have to do is unpress the Memory button. It's like a switch daw kasi, like on/off.

Hope this helps. Btw sir, when you said reset the odo, you mean reset the FC readings for Trip A, Trip B? Or can you reset the odo talaga back to zero?

Thanks sir. I am looking forward to have fun with it for a long time.

So far I got 15km/100l or 6.66km/l on a Friday bumper to bumper traffic. I rarely had enough mins to drive it for a long stretch without stopping, only chance was in Skyway this morning but for a short distance only (Magallanes to Makati) where I got 10.2km/100l before it went downhill na. Although today wasn't exactly a routine day for me, usually I drive on less traffic hours.

So far everything seems good, except that I keep hearing rattling sounds both behind driver side and passenger side. Will have to check it out tomorrow.
