For mask my gauge will be my breathing if I can breathe freely then that mask is no good or it doesn't fit properly. I myself use only clothed mask most of the time.

breathing resistance doesn't imply filtration effectiveness that taiwanese guy who invented these respirators made them such that they work electro-statically, not by PHYSICALLY blocking them like making a mesh fine enough to block viruses (you wouldn't be able to breathe w/ a mesh this fine)

ung binili ko hengde several months ago bagong bago pa coz i only wear it to enter stores

i don't go crazy researching the hell out of every kind of face mask to see which one is most effective

for me useless knowledge malaman alin ang pinaka effective na mask

para sakin mas enriching magbasa tungkol sa virus itself, its parts, where it attaches, why people have no/mild symptoms while others get very very sick

mas gusto ko magbasa tungkol sa interferons, mucosal immunity, t-cells, b-cells, etc

useless naman yan kaka-research mo. tapos everyday ka pa pumupunta sa grocery. i mean who goes to the grocery everyday for no reason at all all that web browsing on t-cells ain't gonna help you especially w/ your 63% mask plus daily trips to the grocery

If you are really afraid of the virus, mag full PPE suit ka paglumalabas, para 100% protection. Sayang lang effort to wear face shield and face mask only just to feel protected pero alam mo naman hindi 100% protection.

For me, proper wearing of face masks is more than enough already. Unless papasok ka sa very high virus concentration areas like covid wards and isolation buildings.

face shield can block large droplets that may otherwise land on your face. useful in some medical applications.

doesn't block aerosols so it doesn't help if you're just walking around in the supermarket

Ganun ba, ? So mali pala yung mga safety protocols in wearing face shieldd and respirator when doing spray painting in confined spaces. Isocyanate aerosols yung target i block ng face shields. Blocking 30% of the viral load will probably makes a difference in your survival.

yep paint spray creeps up from under your face shield and into your eyes. i do a lot of DIY. mas effective ang goggles that seal against your face

If you are an asymptomatic carrier, will the additional Face shield with proper face mask mean less virus aerosol particles in the air?
Are there any studies on this?

The virus, unlike spray painting, isn't sprayed directly into your face, unless someone with the virus coughs or sneezes right in front of your face.

The virus cannot move by itself.

The virus will not, in anyway, try to make its way into your body.

The virus will need external force to be moved and for it to come close and stick to your skin.

If a person with the virus coughs or sneezes in public, and he's wearing his mask properly, will have most of the virus stick to the mask. Those viruses that escape the mask, won't have enough velocity to get far, and will be spread thin, and then falls to the floor eventually.

So I don't see the need for a face shield. If you are really afraid and want to protect yourself, then do a full PPE suit.

Let's just all be responsible and cut the source of the virus, which is our mouth and nose, by properly wearing our masks.

I check with worldometer right now we are at around 63.5M total reported cases worldwide. But how about unreported cases maybe triple or quadruple the current total active cases?

not aware of studies but my horse sense tells me that aerosols travel w/ whatever air flow there is and are quite unimpeded by physical barriers i.e. air can flow around barriers thus carrying the aerosols w/ it

there's really no good argument for using face shields

Do you guys still leave your car out in the sun after using it o derecho na sa garage? I am starting to think I shouldn't do this anymore. I will just throw a bucket of soapy water on each tire then wash it the next day? Kasi sa house ng Lola ko they don't bilad naman. Natunaw tuloy dash ng auto ko when I made bilad!!!

Also, my hands nagbabalat at kulubot na from too much soaping and alcohol I read somewhere very small chance to catch covid from objects, unless an infected person sneezes, coughs or spits into it then you touch it. Then again, it does not survive long naman daw in surfaces lalo na open air?

Anyway, I know I am super paranoid and even my friends and family are telling me to loosen up a little, I still think face shields are not essential and I hope I did not catch anything when I had to wear my face shield that fell to the floor (I alcoholed naman)! Mas prone nga kasi sa tanggal alis ang face shield. If they want the eyes protected dapat nga goggles or yung parang sa astronaut hehe

Leaving car out in the sun -No (& no other riders in my car for now)
Washing tyres - no
Handwashing -yes, usually with Perla since it contains VCO.
Alcohol - I don’t even carry, but I refrain from touching my Eyes, Nose & Mouth (ENM). I Alcohol only when I get back to the car or if there is in stores.
