IMHO dapat yung quarantine period included sa paid work days nila. Consequence din naman yun ng work sa covid wards. If they don't get paid for that, I won't wonder any more why we have a shortage of nurses.

Agree on this one. Part of the work eh, that is the consequence so dapat may compensation. Maaring hindi full amount pero at least half man lang.

Indonesia starts phase 3 trial for COVID-19 vaccine, Sinovac reports phase 2 details - CNA

Indonesia on Tuesday (Aug 11) started a late-stage human trial of a Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccine that will involve as many as 1,620 patients.

The vaccine candidate, produced by Sinovac Biotech, is among just a few in the world to enter phase 3 clinical trials, or large-scale testing on humans - the last step before regulatory approval.

The vaccine candidate, known as CoronaVac, is also undergoing a late-stage trial in Brazil, and Sinovac expects to also test it in Bangladesh.

In Sinovac's mid-stage trial involving 600 participants in China, the rate of fever in patients was relatively lower than other COVID-19 candidates including one from AstraZeneca, the study showed ahead of peer review.

Mid-stage trials usually test a candidate's safety and ability to trigger an immune response in a relatively small number of people before it enters late-stage tests.

The study noted that the process to make the vaccines used in the phase 2 trial was more optimised than in phase 1, which produced more immunogens and triggered better immune responses.

The problem I for see with this vaccine that is tested in less than 2 months is it isn't tested to wide array of people. Like seniors, immunocompromised persons, children, pregnant women and people with a particular disease that might get worse with this.

chickenpox virus was isolated in 1954. the japanese had a local vaccine in the 70s. us fda approved their chickenpox vaccine in 1995.
a covid vaccine in less than a year is... short of miraculous.
if it works as advertised.

We hope that russian vaccine would work especially for people with moderate to critical cases with minimal side effects and no more deaths I think we are heading the right direction towards recovery.

I don't know about you, but when I hoped for a vaccine, I thought of a proven tested one. Hindi ako magvovolunteer maging test subject Would you?
