Exactly. I can't imagine what the front liners are thinking after seeing that development. When this is all over I'm gonna put the ones I meet on a pedestal. Give them VIP treatment any way I can.

Di ko alam kung di niyo lang talaga alam or insensitive lang kayo, but your posts reek of gaslighting the medical community instead of demanding accountability from the government and the DOH. Doctors are asking for ECQ not because they're inefficient but because the system just can't handle it anymore. The influx of patients now is worse than it has ever been.

A friend of mine is a doctor, was positive last May but asymptomatic so gumaling na. Got reinfected this week, this time with moderate symptoms (fever and pneumonia). Walang kwarto and she had to wait for 15 hours to get a room.

Another doctor friend, nahawa buong family last weekend. Mother died this Thursday. Symptoms went from mild to severe in the span of 24 hrs. Her dad and 2 kids still have covid symptoms.

Also another friend, super wealthy family with lots of connections, pero when his dad got COVID it took them over 10 hours and lots of strings pulled just to get a room.

We need to give the healthcare system some breathing room, or else it will collapse under its own weight. I understand the economic implication but we're talking lives of both patients and healthcare workers here - if you do the lockdown right, you don't need to lock down for months. In fact they are only asking for a few weeks.

And Sweden is a prime example that not locking down has NO impact to saving your economy. They were just as impacted economically as neighboring countries who imposed lockdowns.

The difference is that covid took a bigger toll on Sweden.

im not sensitive.

Coliseum quarantine for mild to moderate.

honestly i didn't know hospitals don't admit mild and moderates

and i never said or implied that doctors and nurses are inefficient

my thinking was -- we entered MECQ in mid-May with hospitals not busy

Minguita Padilla of Project Ark tweeted this in May

so as restrictions are eased and people started falling sick mid-June, i assumed hospitals would admit even moderate cases coz they had room

so i assumed there are still mild/moderates in hospitals waiting to test negative so they can be discharged

kaya ko nasabi move those non-serious cases to quarantine centers para may room para sa mga severe

Palace rejects frontliners' call for 'timeout' – The Manila Times

MALACAÑANG on Saturday rejected the medical community’s call to return Metro Manila to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) while the country recalibrated its strategies against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

In a statement, Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. acknowledged that the present general community quarantine (GCQ) classification over Metro Manila has been a subject of “discussion and debate” among the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

“The strict lockdown in Metro Manila has served its purpose, and we need to intensify other strategies,” Roque said.

“The Palace understands the delicate balancing act between public health and the economic health of the nation given that Metro Manila and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) make up 67 percent of our economy,” he added.

I don't want to be in the position of the powers that be ngayon.

Mahirap talaga mag decide between public health and economy's health.

I think the govt is trying very hard to balance between the two. Hinde talaga pwede mamili either one eh.

These frontliners can't take it anymore, either they will quit or get sick themselves.
