How Macau handles the Corona Virus?

1. Lockdown
2. Hotels, Restaurants, Shops, Offices, Banks,
Parks and Schools are totally closed.
3. No people are allowed to go outside.
4. Limited bus schedule. People walk to
avoid crowded places.
5. Proper distribution of masks. 10pcs. per
person (after 10 days you can buy another
10pcs.)
6. Every hour they announce the status of the
virus all over the place.
7. Every building and street they have staff
checking your body temp.
8. They have an online health declaration.
9. All the borders are closed.
10. The people are respecting the government
and follow the rules.

The issue is NOT how rich they are,
its not the budget, its not the population.
Its because they are ALL COOPERATIVE, OBEDIENT and DISCIPLINED.

At walang "maraming marunong" na kumontra dahil TANGGAP nila na wala silang kontrol sa sitwasyon.

Yeah, the small population makes it easier. But the cooperation of their citizens play a big part. Here, we have people with fevers and coughs returning to the provinces.

Japan is an example of a large population but cooperative people kaya madali din na-control ang spread ng virus.

Though I reiterate that a well-organized and coherent government is of paramount importance. They are our leaders after all.

To put things into perspective, majority have followed the guidance to stay home and avoid public places unless necessary. Hence empty roads today.

But the question still remains - And then what?

There needs to be a clear guideline from the DOH on how to handle positive cases, PUIs, and PUMs. Unfortunately, all of my doctor friends in the frontlines are left to their own devices - insufficient kits, masks, and manpower.

Because of the lack of clear guidance from government, each institution is left to fend on their own which has made diagnosis, resource management, and treatment much harder. This has also led to conflicting press releases.

The help needed is clear - more testing kits and supplies, operationalization of LGUs for community based testing, and sufficient manpower to support the healthcare frontliners.

I hope to hear about the above rather than irrelevant rambling from our government whose duty is to get their act together.

What, me worry? No need to worry, guys. Remember this? On Feb 6. 2020 WHO said that our government is on top of things.

i can't believe we've only so far tested less than 1000 people as of yesterday morning. kaya we've only just breached the hundred mark last night. that's a pretty high ratio of test and positive results.

We should start that drive through testing scheme Sokor implemented. And send test kits everywhere. Not just RITM. How do you do that without the kits?

Can someone shed more light on the test kit availability issue? Seems like the FDA is dragging its feet in procurement.

Very true. There has to be test kits first to be able to test. We've been staring at this thing since January and we still don't have enough in stock. And the DOH only got half the money it wanted/needed to address this. And, as of March 13, they still only committed to testing 1000 people a week. Hopefully they increase that number soon.

Unless what they mean by community quarantine is kung taga Las Pinas ka, sa Las Pinas ka lang or kung taga QC ka sa QC ka lang?
