not sure kung ang ginamit nyang term is "pinapayagan" or ini-encourage" na mag home quarantine.

Ang mas binibigyan ng aatention daw is yung may malalang symptoms, matatanda at may underlying illnesses.

It's like her saying, our hospitals will not be able to handle the influx of infected patients so ini introduce na agad satin ang home quarantine ngayon pa lang.

Come to think of it, yung normal days nga, puno lagi hospitals dito sa metro manila even those na mga mamahaling hospital kelangan mo parin mag intay, what if pa kaya ngayon?

Ibang iba sa matanda nung unang panahon. Even my Lola is 93 pero siya pa din nasusunod sa pamilya naman, still walks on her own. I love them so much kaya ibang klase ang takot ko with this outbreak

whatever the reason we are having this pandemic now,

“Flattening the Curve” is a deadly delusion - Joscha Bach - Medium

So basically his point is that flattening the curve doesn't work "enough". What work is draconian containment like China's.

As what has been mentioned on the comment section, Medium is not a peered reviewed journal and a lot of great but maybe unqualified people can come up with their own analysis and publish it there. As for me, I'd rather take it from the experts. The idea behind #flattenthecurve was created by the CDC and supported by epidemiologists.

Experts expect that it is impossible to completely seal off sick population from the healthy. In the simulation, social distancing outperformed attempted quarantine in slowing down the spread.

This virus is not going anywhere unless there's a vaccine, which is not anytime soon. As long as we still go out of our houses to get our supplies, we will likely get infected. Flattening the curve isn't so much about preventing the illness, it is slowing down the rate at which people get sick.

Also, he recognized that there are countries that will not be able to execute severe containment measures due to lack of resources. He is specifically addressing this US, UK and Germany.
