Gusto ni Doc client mag adjust. [emoji23] so kung ganun pala eh di dapat wala ng night shift lahat ng BPO dito or exclusive OZ accounts na lang ang pwede dito.

that is, if they want to.
What dr. d meant was adjust the shift such that during the curfew hours the agent is in the office. E.g. if the previous shifting were 8AM-5PM, 4PM-1AM & 12MN-9AM, then adjust every shift such that no one gets caught up in the curfew hours.

We get it but what we are saying nga e may mga company na hindi adjustable ang working hours dahil critical na nagwo work sila at X time. Not even for 1 hr, may mga strict na client. It's set in stone. May agreement yan that details everything and you can't just change that. It requires discussion and approvals. Like what BratPAQ said, they can take their business elsewhere, dun sa walang demands or inarte

Can you give that hypothetical work shift example that cannot be moved? Because you can subdivide the 24 hours with 3 workday shifts any which way and have the company operating for the full 24 hours.

Sige then you go raise that to the client. Changes in the working hours is NOT "not a big deal' because it is. There are SLAs to be followed.

share us your client's set-in-stone requirements, and let's see what curfew-friendly schedule we can come up with.

And unlike sa doctor-patient relationship na patient ang nag adjust sa kapritsuhan ng doctor kung late siya gumising at magmuni-muni han ang nag breakfast kaya late pumunta ng clinic kahit "by appointment" daw. [emoji23]

Kaya nga we want to know why an employee's schedule cannot be changed. Is it because a client wants to only deal with a specific employee thats why the employee's schedule can't be changed? What if that employee gets sick/quits/ gets terminated? Because you can subdivide the 24 hours by any 8-9 hour schedule and have an agent talk/deal with a client anytime. I mean I'm pretty sure when I call PLDT, the guy/girl I talked to 5 minutes ago would not be the same person I m talking to right now.

yes, essential services can be argued for exemption from curfews.
but there might be some friction regarding what "essential services" is.

Kayo nga mag raise sa client since you know what is best I don't even work in a BPO but our company has a BPO subsidiary and we have SLAs and I know how that is set up. I am not even gonna use corporate jargons anymore but as an example - 9x % of employees should be available for support from x am to y pm. That's why pati leaves and absences tracked nga. Sa mga BPO halos lahat measured. Hindi naman required ang client maga adjust sa curfew ng Pilipinas. Pwede nga palitan but it's not simple.

I'm not going to reply on this anymore. Sobrang OT na

This needs a long explanation and I'm sleepy na. BPOs are not just call centers naman, there's IT, HR and accounting etc. There are clients based abroad that requires PH to work on the same hours as them or at least have an overlap. If it's a project then you can't just talk to any assigned person. For example, on a local setting, naalala ko we hire IT (Accenture ata) for projects and I have specific people that interview me on our current system and what are the future requirements etc. Put that in global setting. There are work that can't be assigned to just anyone like a call center agent.

Si BratPAQ might have a better explanation pa

Thats the point we are raising. You can create overlaps in people's schedules and even work conditions (telecommuting/WFH) such that the office is always manned and projects completed while taking into account current restrictions.

WFH is too expensive for BPO's, risky pa. Clients wants a dependable workforce kaya well-trained dapat. Mahirap at magastos(baka lugi ka na nga dahil sa trainingat equipments) kung magmaintain ka ng maraming employees at meron gadgets sa bahay. Maya takbuhan ka pa. Hassle habulin yan.

Solution dyan is exempted talaga sa curfew mga BPO workers. Sa DTI nila ilapit pero shifting won't cut it. Tatalunin tayo ng India due to higher costs.

i am wondering, where the resistance is coming from.

    to review,
this stems from the possible problem of work activity curtailment as affected by local curfew policy.
in NCR, this curfew is but four hours, from 12 midnight to 4 am...
