RT PCR means, "Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction". it is a description of how it works.
so, no. RT does not really mean Rapid Test.

some newer PCR systems do work considerably faster than the old, traditional PCR.

Who let ‘Gwyneth Chua’ out? Berjaya Makati Hotel under probe for allegedly breaking quarantine protocols

Malaysian billionaire Vincent Tan’s Berjaya Makati Hotel is in hot water for allegedly giving a certain Gwyneth Chua a free pass from mandatory quarantine despite testing positive for COVID-19 after arriving from the United States.

In a statement, the Department of Tourism said it is validating reports about an individual who was allowed to leave a quarantine hotel before finishing the prescribed quarantine period.

“The hotel in question is currently being investigated and has been served a Notice to Explain (NTE), directing the establishment to submit its response to the allegations within three days,” said the DOT, which did not identify the hotel or individual.

A Babbler, however, said the Berjaya Hotel in Makati Avenue is the hotel being investigated by the DOT.

The Babbler said “Gwyneth Chua” started her quarantine in Berjaya on December 22 and tested positive on December 27.

The management of Berjaya Hotel has denied breaking quarantine protocols, the Babbler added.

DOT has warned that failure to comply with its health and safety protocols, as well as that of the Department of Health (DOH) and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) may lead to criminal penalties of fines and/or imprisonment, and administrative penalties such as suspension or revocation of accreditation depending on the gravity of the offense.

Na expose ako Dec 24, I scheduled agad and my appointment is on Jan 5 My Aunt told me today (Dec 29) that she got exposed din on Dec 24 (nephew is positive and they celebrated Christmas) Earliest appointment I could get for her is Jan 10. Kaya nga I told my Aunt na useless kasi kung positive man, malamang magaling na. hahaha. I'm pushing through with mine just to find out how fast they can give the results
