Just heard an interview with pgh last night and they said that they are still at manageable levels. If you impose lockdown now does that mean there won't be a delta surge in the future? I'm really curious and I want to know, sadly I don't think we have an expert on prob and stat here.

I think that is what octa is doing, study the trend. Hindi naman sila medical experts so basically stat pinag-aaralan nila.

The certainty of a surge is the contention now.

Ang point ng OCTA na huwag na katulad nun last surge na namamatay mga tao sa parking, wala ng available rooms sa mga hospitals.

"nip it in the bud" so to speak. Eh kung antayin natin mangyari na ulit ganun before mag lockdown eh di mas hirap nanaman tayo.

oo ung octa sinasabi magkaka surge kaya gusto nila 2 week hard lockdown

pero malaking cost sa economy yan

what if itong 5K to 7K per day since May 2021 IS ALREADY OUR DELTA SURGE?

kaya pala natin i-handle ang delta kahit wala lockdown

what if we are already experiencing the surge?

those genome sequence results being released were samples several weeks old

by this time kalat na ang delta

kaya steady lang ung 5k to 7k per day natin

of course gets ko ano gusto ng octa

    but what if they're wrong

what if the surge they're predicting already started weeks ago and what we're experiencing now is our version of delta surge (this 5k to 7k cases per day)

    di tulad ng India

    di tulad ng thailand

kung magaling ung octa explain nila baket after the recent surge (mar-apr-may) naka steady lang tayo 5K to 7K per day

baket di bumabalik sa baseline natin na 1000+ cases per day?

banda nov-dec-jan-feb 1000+ per day lang

bakit sticky ung 5k to 7k ever since matapos ung surge?

    OCTA explain nyo yan

Again, it is not as if octa is the decision maker.

If the data is not accurate and up to date, then how can we form logical conclusions. When DOH reports 97 delta cases with 94 already recovered and 3 deaths.

the public panics and demands action from the gov't

that's why i have a problem with octa

Lockdowns help slow down the spread..this gives time for experts to devise strategies to deal with the contagion

More isolation rooms, more critical hospital beds, more ventilators, more RT-PCR machines, more health workers, more contact tracers were brought into the fight against this virus and its many different mutations helped us cope up so far

The virus does not only kill our health workers, FATIGUE can kill them as well. It's been a while since they were put into action

Yes, there is another weapon we employed to help our health workers known as the vaccine but it doesn't help save them from succumbing to EXHAUSTION

With the threat of a new delta variant which was observed to be more contagious, what we put in place so far to defend our people from this plague may not be enough. We may need more health workers, more critical beds, more isolation rooms, more vaccines, more testing machines, more ventilators, more oxygen concentrators, all of which our govt cant afford anymore

Hence, the need to contain the spread with another lockdown, considering our vaccination effort is still below 20%

In this fight we have to protect our front line health workers/experts/researchers at ALL COST because its not that easy to replace them. Their know how and inputs are invaluable in this fight. It takes several years to produce health workers while we could lose them in just a few months

Business or the economy can take a back seat in this battle. We need to protect and save as many workers for now to save the economy later on after we defeat this plague
