i cannot emphasize the supply chain disruption enough
many people may not feel it yet
but believe me... sooner or later... the man on the street is going to feel it
Wait for those US companies start panicking when their inventories dry up.
Coronavirus impacts Las Vegas-based model airplane company | Local | fox5vegas.com
“The coronavirus is killing us,” owner Elliot Epstein said. “All of our production has stopped. We produce about 25,000 airplane models a month.”
“Its a big problem for us because we rely on a flow of merchandise to resell and distribute all over the world.”
The virus slowed supply chains and disrupted companies like Apple and general motors. Epstein hopes the setback will be a short lived hit on his business.

need to find out what important items will be in short supply and hoard those hehe (like HK people hoard toilet paper)

Sir, can you ask mga ka-close mo business people if they're already feeling effects
i think pinaguusapan na yan
pati local manufacturing affected
kahit made in PH, if they have parts or raw materials or ingredients galing china pag ubos na stock, stop production sila

Maganda siguro yung mga sanitizers na nasa toilet bowl tank na pag flush mo may disinfectant na yung water na tutulak sa poop. Still, best avoid going to public toilets if you can, specially for number 2.
Always wondered why the exhaust fans for bathrooms stalls are at the ceiling. Di lang malalanghap, para kang naligo sa fecal vapor. Sana toilet level yung exhaust para di na aabot sa mukha.
The toilet fan is for the smell I believe. It was not known then when it was invented that fecal aerosol could be that smelly-deadly if combined with a virus such as this, no pun intended.
Re: hoarding. Tingin ko basic household products like those for cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, canned goods and preserved food will not be much affected yet. Canned goods though might be susceptible since the can could be made from China. Kaso with less supply, inflation will surely be a concern. Kasi magtataas for sure yung mga products na naiiwan lang gaya ng nangyayari sa masks na yan. So there might be stocks, but the prices are exorbitant.
Yung appliances and gadgets ang made in China talaga halos lahat eh. Ilan lang ang made in other asian countries.
We've been buying canned goods every week. At least yung mga matagal expiration like spam.
I wonder though about medicines. I'm aware that most of them doesn't come from China, but you never know if the materials are. I hope there will be no disruptions of maintenance medicines or a lot would suffer and maybe die.
About smartphones, China daw is a large exporter of rare earth materials. Kahit yung US-China ban some of US companies suffered because of lack of imports from China. Mas lalo na ngayon siguro. Kahit Xiaomi nag labas na ng advise na stop muna development ng miui os nila.

Even though Samsung makes their phones in Vietnam, they need parts from China.
Vietnam reports supply chain issues from virus, says may hit Samsung output | Money | Malay Mail
Samsung, Vietnam’s largest single foreign investor, is an example, the ministry said. The epidemic would have an impact on its production of two new phone models as most of the components are sourced from China.
