    at the right price,
'most everyone will trust the china-made + and - screwdriver sets being sold in the mall.
anything more high-tech than that... will probably need a bit more convincing...

Sabi nga ng isang kakilala kong importer, China products are not really 'bulok', sunod lang sila sa budget ng buyer. If ang budget ng buyer is P5.00 for a piece of screwdriver, they'll produce and screwdriver worth 5.00. But if ang budget ng buyer for a screwdriver is 1,000.00, they'll produce the best quality 1k screwdriver for you. It's not China that screws us, its the importers. Pero syempre, sobrang budget conscious din most Filipinos, so they'll buy the cheapest screwdrivers. So in the end, it's us who screws ourselves.

Japan's case numbers are going from bad to worst.. Tokyo alone reports 1,000 plus daily cases..

Access denied: Virus third wave forces hand of Japan's medical system | The Japan Times

Skyrocketing numbers of people on waiting lists for hospitalization underline how officials are now being forced to limit medical care to the most critically ill COVID-19 patients amid bed shortages, with the vast majority of less urgent cases consigned into unsupervised home care.

“The fact that there are people dying after being sent home to recuperate is testament to the severity of the situation we’re in,” Tokyo Gov. Yuriko Koike told reporters last week.

As Japan grapples with its biggest surge in infections since the onset of the pandemic, more and more patients are being denied access to medical institutions.

The numbers of those waiting to be hospitalized or being cared for at other facilities has soared over the past month, especially in Tokyo.

The figure in the capital stood at 7,481 as of Monday evening, more than double the 3,516 seen on Jan. 6 and a jump of about elevenfold from the 653 logged on Dec. 2, according to Tokyo Metropolitan Government statistics.

“Infections are so widespread that the kind of aggressive contact-tracing we used to do is no longer serving its purposes,” Ono said. “So we can’t really spend our resources doing that anymore, and have to shift toward allocating more support for high-risk patients.”

dati nabanggit ko dito sa thread SARSCOV2 is so successful at infecting humans it's already a perfect virus and couldn't get any better

if there will be any changes to the virus it will be in the opposite direction... it will become less successful

    i was wrong

    well,
    if it becomes non-lethal,
that would be an improvement, for both sides.
more people will get infected, but no one will die.

Think of it this way. the More people get vaccinated the closer we get to the end point of Herd Immunity and back to our normal lives.
But due to circumstances against getting the vaccine all over the world it might take a while.

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

Kids still need to be vaccinated in the future.
its just that they are the last in the order due to their better survivability compared to the older age groups.

But we all know no Pfizer shot will be arriving earlier than July. So those looking for vaccination before then, particularly private businessmen and mayors, are aiming for the speedy delivery of the AstraZeneca shots, and possibly the one from US biotech firm Moderna.

Incidentally, there are 35 countries in the SRA list: the US, UK, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. They have cornered the initial massive orders for the Pfizer shots, but the company is ramping up production.

    * * *
Even before Norway’s denial of the direct link between the deaths and the Pfizer shot, the story did not sufficiently erode preference for the vaccine, since no such deaths have been reported among the elderly in the US, the UK, Canada and several dozen other countries where the Pfizer jab has been rolled out.

President Duterte, miffed at senators for investigating the Sinovac procurement, said he might send them the Pfizer vaccine for their use.

Even some of the senators older than 60 will likely accept Duterte’s offer. Leaders past age 60 of countries that have rolled out the Pfizer vaccine have reported no problems with their health, including new US President Joe Biden, age 78, who has already received the complete two doses. Also getting the Pfizer shots in public are Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu (age 71) and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong (age 68).

The first person in the world to receive the Pfizer shot, a 91-year-old woman in Britain, is doing well as far as we know.

America’s top infectious disease expert, 80-year-old Dr. Anthony Fauci, opted for the Moderna shot, with 94.1 percent efficacy.

What the Norway deaths might indicate is that you can’t administer the Pfizer shot – or most vaccines for other diseases for that matter – to seriously ill elderly patients.

At work today, some of the blue collar employees asked me if COVID is really true. They don’t believe it and said it was just conjured up by the gov’t to restrict/control the people. They said it is just ordinary “trangkaso”. I never thought people like these existed. Maybe because in their area, they don’t know anyone who died from COVID. I was aghast & exasperated, telling them if all that news about the deaths didn’t have any effect on them.

    i'm not laughing.
i do not see the humor.

it's as if nature played a potentially fatal practical joke on the human race...
    "we are not amused."

    to me,
    it is more of
"nature is very stingy with its secrets".
