    The trick i used..

tight nut - spammer - crowbar - car jack..

Yes.. i literaly used a crowbar to remove a tight nut..hehe

kaya yan jigsaw and straight file, sandali lang specially pag may table vise ka. it would'nt hurt to have a drill press also

    * locoroco: try it you might like it, hehe. try mo lang muna block exhaust side, pag wala problem saka ka na gumawa nun blocking plate. navara kasi may mga version na wala talaga egr and catalytic converter, e.g. caribbean editions

hehe, sana nga pumwede....ano ba yung pwede ipang block sa exhaust side before ako gumamit ng plates?

if your're not going to be using it for a long time, like pang-testing lang, yung yero na ginagamit na paleta pang-masilya pwede. pero hanap ka nun makapal, meron nakagamit sa amin nun manipis pag-check nya ulit butas na!

Kumusta sir? Went with the Bilsteins nga pala. Awesome handling but I do feel a lot more feedback from the suspension specially during low speed events.

BTW, wouldn't the blocking of EGR be sensed by the onboard computer and make the check engine light lit?

because in my case, some of the things I read in the international triton forums indicates that it would trigger the
check engine light and some others doesn't and works completely as well as nothing had been put in, I just don't know if we do it here....

also if I may ask, where did you bought the break pads? i'm guessing its also available for the strada? and other brands as well?
Hehe dami ko bloopers this day, kababalik kolang from the beach night swimming ang inabot dahil sa kabubutingting..

Ive heared Euro and those with built in DPF and oxygen sensors throws error code when EGR is blocked.. I think since yours is an older model EGR blocking can be done without problems. Try mo muna block yung intake side(as described by sir Pedic) then observe kung may abnormalities. There would be also a slight increase in initial torque (daw) from idle but i barely notice. Napansin ko lang less carbon buildup..

Re Kmi compact brakes, sa Masangkay ko nabili Nisparts i think they carry also mitsu and hyundai.. Try mo din eto Kwikparts - Primary supplier of automotive parts in the philippines

Correction spanner yung wrench, spammer yung poster..Nyahaha..

Sarado nga machine shop so i have to jig it.. naknang yung 3 blades ko ubos kalahati pa lang.. Went to hardwares wala silang ganun modelo ng blade! sarado yung sa Makita center.. So no choice pulled my trusty hacksaw at sinimulan kona habang may araw pa..

I have a wooden bench table vice some G clamps at yung wooden stool ng labandera namin (nagkabutas butas sa barena) But walako nun drill press so i have o use hand drill and cobalt bits.. Nasunog ang tip ng cobalt ayawna tumuloy magbutas, used the round file to complete the hole

Dipa dyan natapos bloopers ko.. When im about to test drive na, i decided to check the primary-fuel filter for water an waxing so i loosen the buttom.. Ayun may konting water at buhangin then namumuti ang wax.. When i started the engine, sininok hangang mamatay.. Voila, the culprit was the missing gasket of the primary filter.

this happens to the best of us, me thinks? sa kagustuhan mo matapos ang isang project napipilitan ka mag-short cut kaya lalo napapalpak hehe. kaya eto, i've been driving around in my project paj without a dashboard for more than a month now... sa kagustuhan "do it right the first time", wires and switches dangling everywhere

yun fuel filter pump mo ng naka-close yun drain? also do it with the battery connected, para gumana yun in-tank pump? saka when you get it started have someone keep on priming the pump while you rev the engine para mawala yun air, otherwise there'll be times you crank the motor and you'll be experiencing rattling of the engine... para bang in-between life and death sya : )

thanks! siguro i try ko yung blocking plate nalang mismo....yung 4.5mm ba na yun is the most used thickness? or its something you just prefer lang?

thanks for the info regarding the break components...=) sobrang mahal ng OEM na tokico sa strada...5k!

Collateral damage ng workmanship from casa - kung nilagyan lang nila ng gasket ang wiF port and hand-tighten yung mga filters as instructed on the manual, hindi sana ako tatagal.. Mabuti na rin nangyari kesa ma airlock while on the road.

Yup closed ang drain while pumping, the air will enter the engine while the fuel lines will be cleared-off air.

AFAIK Walang in-tank pump si Nav, the fuel pump do the sucking.. I revised my plans to upgrade my fuel filters due to this. Baka FASS na lang yung with built in pump..

One man show lang.. I usually do this to old school diesel (advantage ng old school from the starter, heater, up to throttle accessible lahat in the engine bay)

Opened the gas filler lid to release pressure
Removed the hoses of the primary filter (at this point totally wala laman diesel yung hose, na siphon na ng tank)
    Removed the 2 filters
Pre-filled in the new filters with fresh diesel
Filled with fresh diesel (used a syringe to fill the hose)
    - fuel line going to the engine (the return hose of engine is also shut)
    - fuel line from primary to secondary filter (medyo restrictive since theres a vacuum going to the secondary filter)
    - remove air bleeder screw in the primary filter and remove the air by filling the filter head with diesel)
    - put the hoses back
    - primed the secondary filter's built-in pump until it hardens
    - crank the engine (one click lang start agad)
    - continously prime the pump while engine is on idle (nanginginig makina but hindi naman namatay)

    Now, regarding asphaltines..

10k replacement interval by casa seems reasonable.. Primary Filter for water coalescing, secondary filter for asphaltines..

Preference lang yung thickness since Stainless Steel is the most available material to withstand up to thousand degrees.. Pero para no need for spacers, dapat kasing kapal nung flange ng EGR, sakto ang original bolts dun.
I considered possibility of mechanical stress while hot thats why 4.5mm yung nasa exhaust at 2mm yung intake.

Re brakes, i got mixd up- Nisman pala yung nasa Masangkay. Hindi ko kasi nireface so under observation pa.

Buti talaga may mga magaling na kalikotero dito like cydepx44 and 12vdc. Learned a lot here without having to break a sweat hehe.

Bro if you keep the egr tube in and just put a blocking plate in place of the gasket, it should act as an additional heat sink. Pag tinanggal yung tube dapat siguro makapal talaga yung plate. After blocking it you'll be surprised at how much longer it takes for the oil to darken lalo na if madalas ka sa stop and go traffic.

Anong brand of diesel gamit mo bro?

    * 12vdc: i was assuming meron in-tank kasi madalas ko naririnig yung whir sound in that area, kahit nakagarahe lang. i once had the battery out, nakalimutan ko ikabit nag-prime ako nun fuel pump, hehe, ayun natuyuan. realizing my mistake, i tried priming it again with the battery connected. immediately narinig ko agad yung whir nun pump even though naka-off ang engine

Narinig ko din yang whirling sound but from the engine. i guess its the pump na mismo sa engine na sense nya na puro air ang line(no pressure) so umiikot lang sya once na engage yung ignition switch to ACC.. Chneck ko din sa manual fuel sending unit lang ang electrical na nandun sa tank..Pero one way of knowing this, itanong natin sa CASA?? kaso hindi na ako pumupunta sa CASA..hehe

Usually Petron lang or turbo diesel.

It buildup when fuel ages(napapanis) they tend to form as sludge in the buttom of the tank. Worst when contaminated with water na accelerate ang buildup (chemical process).

Our primary filter was designed to be long to efficiently collect the water(coalesce)..

The secondary filter rolled-media design efficiently filters other contaminants. The center tube (no hole) aka standpipe makes sure the engine sucks up fuel from the buttom thus preventing air (if there is an air in the fuel line, air tends to go up in the filter-head). Also it makes sure all fuel will pass the filter media and no shortcuts allowed..

From my fuel filter research, almost all high efficiency filters does not have a standpipe design except for Baldwin BF1258 w/c is rated 6-micron. It is pleated media design and thread is larger at 1-14.

LArger filter and filter lines requires more sucking power from the fuel pump w/c could affect fuel delivery. Only solution is to install lift pump near the tank-common to FASS. My thoughts are, the stock filters are very good and well designed that no other direct equivalent could replace for the moment. FASS installation is a different story and im eyeing on it as future upgrade. For now, the stock suffice the requirement of filtering our bad fuel.

Pinalitan mo din ba springs? yung pro4x kasi mas stiff yung springs sa non pro4 but those bils should be better than stock

nag palit na ako sir ng OME Light duty coils at OME Nitrocharger sport shocks I gained a lift of almost 2 inches before and after shots. ride is far better than my OEM bilstein and handling is superb. meron dito highway exit curve na 80kph lang ang turn sa old suspension hirap na but yesterday i made it doing 90kph ill try 100 next time lol. its stiff but the nitrocharger shocks soaks it. sabi nga ng ARB they focus on ride quality not the ride height.
