Don't know where you heard water injection kits don't last. Especially with the newer style pumps. The only way it could damage your engine is if you had it hooked up incorrectly to spray when the key was not running. It only injects under boost. The boost activated base kits are pretty much bullet proof. Sometime electronic controllers can have a few issues like any electronic item such as a cell phone or computer but that's what a warranty is for.
And nobody here know water injection better than me.
By the way folks if you block the EGR ona YD25 or ZD30 motor it raises the factory boost buy up to 6psi on some vehicles so I highly suggest you get a manual boost controller to prevent this as it will kill your turbo because of the higher exhaust gas temps. It kills the turbos in these all the time, get a manual boost controller and you don't have to worry about a boost spike and you maintain your factory boost or you can set it for a few psi higher. if you don't have one or a EGT gauge I highly suggest you wait until you do.
The hard parts will out last your vehicle such as the nozzles, hoses, nozzle holders ect. The pump you can expect about a 5 to 7 year life out of it in the engine bay. Mount it in the car should last about 10 years.
The key to keeping your system going is just simple maintenance which most people forget to do. To do this just run 20% hard water/lime stain remover through the pump every 9 months. Also soak the nozzle once a year in it. And it will never clog. The Philippines has very hard water with lots of deposits. Most people will not use distilled water.
Mount your pump far away from a heat source like the exhaust, and wrap it with some insulator. or make a heat shield and it will make it last even longer.
hi! mine is a kenwood head unit, touch screen. got it from gold cars about 2 months ago.. costs 32k... so far, im happy with it. good tv reception, and improved sound quality. (i also had my sounds set up- speakers, amplifiers)... i heard, pioneer is also good, and at about the same price..
mga sir, has anybody availed of zee-glaze paint protection by ziebart? whats your comment on this? is it true that after application of this, we wont have to use car shampoo and waxing on our cars? just plain water, and the paint's luster is preserved/maintained? thanks!!!
I just read somewhere the pump dies, though i dont know if it was due to incorrect installation.. Since youre the athority when it comes to water injectioncan you suggest whats the better route to cleaner intake? As much as possible i dont want to block the EGR because of environmental concerns. Another question - If i do EGR blanking plus water-injection, do i still need the boost control? Im assuming that extra temp caused by blocking EGR can be compensated by the cooling-effect of water-injection?
The pumps last for many many years if taken care of. We have 1000's and 1000's of kits out there and had around a 5% failure rate on the old pumps. We have since switched to a much better 250psi unit I think in the last year and a half have had less than 4 that needed to be returned under warranty and 2 worked just fine just improper install and the other guy had the lines backwards
For these engines the first thing you should do besides the ultimate protection of a manual boost controller. (If your MAF sensor has been sooted up by all the oil mist from the Crankcase vent it will cause a overboost condition)
Do a oil catch can with a filtered media in it. A nice piece of foam works great. These two modification will save you a lot in repairs down the road.
This is the difference between a blocked off EGR vs a one that is not.
If your worried about the environment water injection reduces hydrocarbons by as much as 90%.
Here is a good example of what your intake looks like with the EGR not blocked. This does aid in emission controls when you have all this oil and soot that has to be burnt by the engine.

what's more depressing, having your turbo fail or having your turbo disapproved for warranty due to improper maintenance?
The improper maintenance line is a con, If you followed all scheduled maintenance ever if you doubled it. It does not stop the built in failure factor from the factory. Simply put until you add a oil catch can, EGR block off, And a Manual boost controller for a back up for over boosting the turbo is prone to fail. Also owning a diesel without a EGT gauge to let you know when temps are to high is like driving blind.
Proper maintenance or not your intake is going to look like this and this will cause high exhaust gas temps which will kill the turbo.
Verses this with those simple and cheap modifications I would say it's a hell of a difference.
Diesels are dirty if you want a engine to go 400,000kl without a rebuild this is a good way to start. It's really not a option for those who don't like high repair bills.

good day sirs..
meron na po ba nag try mag 2inches lift sa 199 off road house?
im planning na magpa lift po kasi ask ko lang kung kumusta ang performance after the lift ( handling, cornering, ride ) compared sa stock.
thanks![]()
If you must go to Ziebart go to the one in Makati, it couldn't be worse than the one in Pasig. Brought my car there to have 3 panels painted. The paint looked good but they scratched the adjacent panels. The unit was given back to me with the door edges stripped down to metal and the paint faded a few days after the few months of warranty expired. I think it was 3? or 6? months.
well i'm actually still awaiting the result of my appeal regarding my warranty. i simply can't accept being denied warranty because i didn't have a simple change oil done at their dealer. what happened to all the money i spent for PMS from 5,000 km to 65,000 km. i didn't even miss the 70k change oil. i just had my own mechanic do it, using original oil filter i even bought at their dealer.
Wow that is crazy, they are going to deny a claim for a blown turbo because you didn't have a oil change done with them. Unfortunately most stealerships there are like that. There are no laws to protect the buyer and even if there were nobody to enforce it.
Good luck.
guess what guys, UMC's Ms. Tet Bugayong called me up a little past 11 am today. I've been ranting about my turbo's warranty for the past few days apparently when the UMC higher ups already reconsidered since last friday to replace my turbo free of charge- through their goodwill. it just so happened that everyone involved went for their long vacation early so the info didn't get sent down till today. Well but i'm not one to complain when i'm being handed a brand new turbo unit
. their only request: that i have all pms done only at a nissan dealership. what the heck, THANKS NISSAN - UMC!
i was kinda looking forward to upgrading the turbo to a gtb2260vk. deym....
