sir ianmitsulancer, regarding the lowering of tire pressure when going off-road, yes i do it every so often when i have to go thru sandy areas where proerly inflated tires would just cut thru the sand and eventually sink in, but i do this only when i have my compressor with me(air ha!!) but otherwise i just lower my TP to around 26-28 depending on the load that i am carrying, para lang mas malaki ang surface area ng gulong in contact with the ground for better traction and control. pero some of my friends really lower their TP to i think 8-10psi!!!! pag nag trail kami!!!!! parang nga tiyan ng lasengo sa tondo ang itsura na ng mga gulong!!!! ang lakas pa sumira ng goma!!!!

ginagawa ko yan pag nasa beach pero until 20 lang kasi malakas nga makasira ng goma. if u want, may rims sa RIDE (in banawe) na may lock (bolts) around the lip and behind it that would allow you to lower it to 5psi but para hindi rin masira ang goma, you have to get a dune / sand terrain or mud terrain. basta yung mukhang may ngipin/groves/thread sa gilid. kasi yun din ang kakapit sa floor pag nagbabaan ng psi. ok lang na lambutan ang tire but if u want to go extremes, u have to use the right rim and tire for that. nasubukan ko na ang Simex Centipede na tires for sand and lumulutang talaga sa sand but ang apache mejo bitin parin. i'm saving up coz i wanna get the nitto dune gappler tires for my strada....mahal nga lang talaga...

    Strada Owners,

Hi guys. I'm planning to buy a GLX this coming month. I know I know GLS is better pero yun lang kaya ng budget e...

Anyways, I'd like to ask sana your opinions. Kase I was talking to a dealer about installing the MID (Multi Information Display) from the GLS dun sa GLX unit na kukunin ko. I'd like to ask lang if anybody here already did it. I'd like to ask the details sana like magkano yung MID unit, Installation price, is it possible to place it sa GLX, will it void my warranty, etc.

Appreciate the help! I hope I can join the next EB.

*ericsiomai- i think i heard of the Simex Centipede in the past. I just forgot about the product feedback. thanks for raising that.

*arvin cristi- thanks for sharing about your experiences sa tire deflation. i did this once on the strada of my uncle. i decreased the psi of his savero tires to get out of the mud! i wasnt mindful of the psi- but i was minding the appearance of more tire contact. it worked and i rushed to the nearest gas station to pump up the psi afterwards.

as for your painted wheels, good luck with that pa post po ng pic!

yung sa friendster, il look for it... i have 29 pictures of the 3rd eb there- i must say, staring ka dun bro! may picture ka dyan na parang inaaway mo si pauland! hahahaha!

any variant of the strada is still a good choice. so far, i haven't heard of any GLX or GL owner having MID...i am sure you can only get it from "the casa". if so, they will install it as well. so warranty wouldnt be a factor. but think about it first, do you really need it...best to also ask those who have them if they use it often. the only thing i can think of with regards to MID is that it helps compute FC.

    * kenpogi- we warmly welcome to the thread. we are looking forward to meet you.

Maganda po ang Strada GLX and we never underestimated it. in fact most of our members here got a model like yours actually. so im very sure they will welcome you to the bunch as well. the MID display is better known as the RV meter - i think there was one BOSB who installed the RV meter to his 4x2 GLX.

we are looking forward to meet u at the EB. sign up! now na!

    Welcome to the thread kenpogi!

If the dealer will install the MID then there would be no problem regarding your warranty. I have not yet encountered a GLX or GL owner who installed the same to his vehicle, so sorry for that. However, as av8or5 pointed out, if you really need the functions the MID would bring, then definitely you should install one to your vehicle. Another tip is to install an HU that would also has the same function as to the OEM MID, hitting two birds in one stone at a less cost to your pocket. At any rate, ill try to ask around the price of the OEM MID, the cost of installation sa casa and the feasibility/functionality of one.

Please do join us sa next EB/Fun Run. It brings us joy and pride to see the club growing and having quality members.

thanks for the info bro... regarding sa intention mo to change tires, you might want to check sa casa about it because your warranty might be voided, sayang din yun three years. another tip (wag ka lang maingay, hehehe) is not to dispose your OEM mags and tires and use them whenever you will bring your strada for PMS. or upgrade to the OEM mags and tires ng GLS, allowed yata ng casa yun. another thing, baka bumigat ang streering/handling if you change tires na mas malapad ang profile... anyway, you have the final say on the matter at hand... balitaan mo na ang kami sa mga mods mo
