By the way, did you guys know that we must maintain at least a 1/4 fuel level to avoid having problems with the CRDi engine in the future? According to the people at mitsus' service centers, a fuel level lower than 1/4 will slowly damage your crdi engine. I dont know if this is true, but its better to be safe than sorry.

btw, eto observation ko:

shell diesel: mas maingay, slightly higher rpm, burns faster, runs smoother, and mas mausok.

caltex/petron: mas tahimik, normal rpm levels, feel ko mas more km/liter, runs okay, less usok

kayo? any feedback sa strada ninyo? although i know meron na thread about the diesels but for our strada, what do you guys notice.

after i finish my P2k worth of shell diesel..balik ako either caltex or petron.

Yup. same observation. Presently, I use Petron diesel.

Ako, I've been doing that since I bought my Innova 2.0 Gas. I think its also stated in the manual, otherwise baka magka-problema yung catalytic converter (?). I guess that holds true for all engines.

Tried out the 4whell drive last weekend
Nothing hardcore , just mud deep enough bumara ang jeepney
Didnt give the strada any problem , due sa 4x4 and because of the big wheels
Hindi agad nag shift sa 4x4 , just like the manual said , you have to straighten the wheel then drive until the 4x4 engages
Ganun din , when you have to shift back to 2wheel drive , kelangan abante atras ko muna before it shifts

This is my first pickup and now I understand why the 1st and 2nd gear feels weird sa sanay sa kotse
You appreciate the lower gears low speed when crawling slowly over mud and obstacles , or climbing/descending slippery gradients
Ganyan pala talaga so the engine doesnt stall

Might take the pickup up to Mudsprings in Mt. Makiling this weekend

I wasnt really listening to the sales agent , but it's something about the filth in your gas tank and about the holes in the injectors being .01mm yata

I don't know about having a minimum of 1/4 tank fuel, I just ride and drive I've been in several situations when I fill-up for fuel upon seeing the orange light low fuel indicator go off, and I never had problems.

As to the filth in the tank, that's the job of the fuel filter. Also, from what I know, the fuel tank doesn't have anything to do with the CRDI system as it is just a reservoir for fuel. I guess what they're trying to say is to avoid really running out of fuel (which can also happen when the vehicle is tilted, like in 4-wheeling) because the ECU for the CRDI system might go awry. And the only way to prevent this is having the habit of maintaining a minimum 1/4 fuel tank level.

basta CRDi ata ang engine kailangan wag bababa sa 1/4 ang fuel. something to do ata with the size of the injector as what Allegra said.

Agree. If you refer to page 3-6 of your manual, it just says "do not drive with an extremely low fuel level". Pero I still feel more comfortable if I maintain a minimum of 1/4 fuel tank level. I do not want to get stuck in traffic with that warning lamp on.

I read previously in this thread that some Strada owners were having problems with sudden loss of power. If I'm not mistaken, when they tried to maintain that habit, the problem was solved. Tama ba? I guess eto yung mga Boholanos...
