salamat sa mga tips mga bro! I know how that feels sir drave-- the invincibility when youre driving a 4x4. iba talaga feeling of security din. my dad owns a pajero 4x4 and an innova. when we do out of towns, ganda sa high-way ng innova. pero pag medyo rocky and muddy na ang daan, very cautious na ang driving (and parking). unlike pag-gamit ko yung pajero, kahit downhill na zigzag you feel more secured (kupad nga lang sa highway dahil automatic at hindi pa CRDi hehe). anyway, balitaan ko kayo what happens! thanks for all the help!

Bro, 4x4 din yung jeep sa mt makiling. 4x4=16. may 16 na pasaherong magtutulak pag nabitin or nastuck yung jeep! ok corny.

Pero just a warning, Allegra, pag natikman mo yung 4x4, eh baka hahanap-hanapin mo na

4x2 kasi at open-type rear differential. Lesson learned.

For me, I'll buy the 4x4 anytime. You'll never know when you're gonna need it. Also, there's this sense of invincibility when you're driving one hehehe....

Natawa ako sa kwento mo bro
I have thought of that already ( parking on wet grassy incline )
Kasi it has happened to me long ago when I was a student w/ my first car
The only reason I remember it well was there was a deep creek sa dulo ng incline and the car was slowly slipping hehe
Even if the ground is dry , murphy's law says it's gonna rain in the middle of summer

I've been asked a lot by the car/van/suv crowd kung san ko gagamitin yung 4x4
Matuloy or not , at least it shuts them up

FYI , it's called mudprings not because it's muddy , but because of the boiling mud pools inside the Makiling rainforest
The trail is not muddy , it's pure head/fist sized rock, small boulders and gravel ang trail surface tapos paakyat siya ng mt makiling
Maybe it's not as challenging din , kasi a few years ago my mother drove her RAV4 up there w/ some guests
    Tinalo pa ako

i remember about 5 or so years back, me and my gf went to punta fuego. at that time the road was hell, it wasn't paved yet. i was still driving my civic esi with 17" 40 series tires.. i was driving so slow that other suv's was passing by me..but i made it..and there were parts of the road that really was hell. imagine my civic was only fwd.

then i replaced my esi with a trooper 4x2...back 2003 troopers and pajero was all 4x2. but never did i need a 4x4. the worse road i used my trooper was going to lobo batangas...rocky and many hills as well. never needed 4x4. but one time, i was at tarlac and was going to a mcdo drive thru and the side cover over the canal system gave and my front left tire fell. (that was the only time i really needed a 4x4, good thing meron mga construction guys willing to help get my troop out of the hole)

going back to sir pauland question, if you think you will be going places that would need the 4x4 features, then do save up for it..but if its just regular highway driving, city driving or an occasional rough roads then 4x2 is what you need. i've asked people who has 4x4 and most would say, they never engaged it or seldom engaged the 4x4 features, some dont even know when to use 4h or 4l. lol.

    Merry Christmas everyone.
I dont own a strada yet, planning to buy a 4x2 next month since I really dont go offroading, no time for that. Just need your expert advice sirs, if I get a 2.5 GLX and change my tires for wider ones but same tire diameter, am I at risk of voiding the warranty? I might retain the wheels as is.
If it voids the warranty, I might opt to get the GL instead.
will appreciate your feedback +/- po.
BTW, I might drop by at metrowalk and take a look at your stradas if its ok with you.
    thanks and Godspeed

Tama ka allegra. The other day, I was driving along SLEX from mla. I was driving at 90-100 km/h when I noticed na madami lubak a few meters ahead. I tried to carefully change lanes pero di kinaya. My right front tire hit a deep hole, tapos parang biglang kumabig sa kaliwa at nag skid. Parang drift nga eh. Siguro kinabahan yung sumusunod sa kin. Pero I did not lose control. Napaisip lang ako kung ano nangyari. Wala naman nagbago sa steering and suspension. Sana...

in my opinion, dapat hindi ma void ang warranty. if you notice, sometimes casa has options for different mags. but it doesnt void their warranty because they had it installed by their so called experts. if you were to change mags, just retain your old ones. if you go to casa to get pms, just slap on your original mags. they wont know the difference.

now getting gl and glx is your choice on what features you want to have, but changing the mags wont make a difference which variant you want. meron nga tayo tsikoteer who spend his P100k to dress up his GL variant....it looked good at less the price for upgrading from gl to glx.

its really up to you and what you invisioned your strada to be.

your welcome to join us sa mini-eb. see you sir.

    Dun ako nagtataka
When your traveling at high speeds , you think masissra suspension ng pickup sa lakas ng impact , pano pa kaya yung sedans?
Then these *#$%$% would move the barriers paiba iba ng position , very dangerous at night
Just get a new sales invoice from the dealers

    av8or5,

You're not flooding bro, just enthusiastic Who wouldn't?

At night, the danger rises ten-fold due to lack of warning lights.

Don't worry about warranty being voided. The engine has so much power that thin tires could be dangerous. Besides, it's a pick-up truck and it needs higher payload capacity tires. Mababawasan pati yung swaying movement sa rear due to the wider tires.

If you like, baka ibenta ko na yung Bridgestone H/T 245/70R16 (orig size of gls 2.5 4x4), 3 months used lang or 5k kms so mga 95% tread pa. No flats yet.

Went to San Pablo Laguna today for a day trip to visit some friends. I must say that the SLEX is very bad compared to NLEX today. Traffic was horrible. Plus the barriers which are appearing from nowhere. However, I enjoyed the ride of my Strada from bocaue which started at 5:30am and I was back home at 8:30pm. (good thing I had A/T).
