wow i like this!!! where to buy!!
on the other hand... i read this somewhere..
"Chipping cars is a very controversial area," "You'll find that some standard cars make an unbelievable gain when you fit a UniChip, but other cars - where the engine management is so close to perfect to begin with - you'll only get a very small gain."
"I've never driven an aftermarket system that drives as well as the factory computer - they don't have anywhere near the processing speed of the factory unit. The big question is - why throw away all the car manufacturer's millions of dollars of design and development if you can go in and change only what you need to?"
"Cost,"?? .
"There is no hard material cost in a reverse-engineering system, but obviously the UniChip is an electronic module in its own right. On the other hand, the UniChip can - right now - go onto the US-spec STi, whereas the generational change in its software has put everyone else back virtually to square one."
A very interesting read there. I think they were pertaining to the boxer engines of Subarus.
In any case of a chip-upgrade the best way to determine if there is indeed a sincere increase in HP is to put it on the Dyno to compare results. Dyno tests maybe expensive but they sure don't lie plus it gives the owner an accurate, pound-for-pound evaluation.
On a more personal note, if a chip user claims to have improved performance in power gain and fuel efficiency based on daily driving then that, in my book, is a success in itselfin the end what matters is the user's personal satisfaction with this good investment.

No no I'm not a detailing guruthis is the right place for you to explore that wonderful world of cleanliness:

That's where I learned most, if not, all of my cleaning jobs. This is why Sunday is my favorite day of the week![]()
Sir MR, gotcha sir. Thanks. Color matching is great. Walang off shade whatso ever. Thanks ulit.
Teejay, dude. In citi motors makati. Where the paint shop is really not casa but owned by a different business. Ah i see, i get you. Well i did do the diy sanding, rubbing, cleaning, polishing, glazing last night and all is good now. The paint shop (casa) i guess is good naman but they lack quality control and probably attention to detail? Considering whan i had my car done my MS was sandwiched by an F430 and gt2. Yung sa kanila maganda. Sa akin panget! To add up ginutter pa nila rims ko. Good thing i change to stock everytime i bring it to casa or leave it anywhere.
Thanks Teejay!
mga sir maka bili pa ba tayo ng honeycomb grill for our montero at 6k+??? i ask the mitsu casa in cebu they are selling it for 12k+. can anyone help me im located at tagbilaran city, bohol.
After waiting for more than one month, I finally got my Montero.
It is as I expected - very strong, nice ride, and something that would probably hold its value over time.
My buying experience was the total opposite though.. as it was total crap. I got the unit from Union Motors Paco/Mall of Asia, and here are some learnings:
1. Pick a good sales agent. The fact of the matter is, there are some agents that are good and clear communicators, and there are some that will do more harm than good.
2. Many sales agents will promise the world to you - Montero in a week etc. But in reality, there is this long line on the MS. Prepare to wait.
3. Try to look for a "sales manager". I shopped around for a Toyota unit, and found a sales manager that was just very smooth to deal with.
4. Do not rush on the MS. Ask the various dealers around and go with what your comfy with. Test your SA by asking tough questions. Whatever you do, try to stay away from Union Motors which has a lot of poor SAs, poor system, and seems to have few MS supply.
5. In the case of Union Motors, they seem to be totally disorganized from vehicle queuing even to releasing. I was not once give accurate projection on when my unit is likely to be delivered.
6. I got my unit only when I told them that I already want to cancel. For some miracle, I was given a unit the next day. The morale: Give a strong message that you cannot wait for long.
Hope this helps for those planning to buy a MS.
Guys help naman, what rims ang babagay kaya for our Monty? My dad wants blings kasi eh, but I refused, sabi ko yung Lenso RT7 na lang..
Choices ko sana:
1. Dolce DC20
2. Dolce DC12
3. Omega Genesis
4. Lenso RT7![]()
good day
have you heard about the V-TECH RED BOX?
they said this stuff is good for crdi engine to gain max power/torque and better fuel consumption.TIA
cheers
Toronegro, Sir JPG showed me this awhile ago, but as i am not an expert, but from all the different types of ecu upgrades and piggyback upgrades i've come accross, this one in my opinion is not something i would consider getting..
This unit comes with preset factory settings, (9 variations to be exact), so unless they really installed it on a montero and tested the settings and locked it that way, they are just assuming and using general settings for all diesel engines. It doesn't seem like you can alter those 9 variations to your liking which really does not let you maximize your car's potential, it will probably add some HP and torque but for 25t it may not be able to be proportioned to the power gain that you'd be getting..
Also, our montero's ecus are one of the more complicated ecus (so i'm told) and we need some kind of by pass to be able to make our ecu recognize new equipment, such as bigger intercooler, blow off valve, exhaust, etc... For example, the unichip is a piggyback system attached to your ecu which enables you to do your own settings through a program, so you can make the ecu recognize new equipment and fully maximize all your add ons. If you get the unichip with the harness, its as simple as plug and play also, if you unplug it, your car automatically goes back to stock settings, while its on, then it depends on how you had it set...
So far, i was told that there are so far only 2 monteros that have in deed installed a unichip at speedlab.
Mga bros, how about the warranty sa engine? I know it says here that it won't but won't it be voided as far as Mitsubishi Casa is concerned?
Take it off before having it serviced or claiming for warranty.. they won't know the diff.. Just don't tell them.
The problem with the everest that, little gains would be significant gains because its kinda slow compared to our monteros.. but like i said before, the 25t your paying, you won't be getting bang for your buck.. but that's my opinion.. plus the reason why one would consider installing a chip or a piggyback would be because he/she would probably be a speed junky.. so.. this would most likely not be the only add on.. hence other add ons would prove useless if you can't use this chip to maximize those other add ons.A couple of FCP (FordClubPH) members are using the Red Box with their 3.0 Everests. Feedback is very good. Apparently, even using the lowest setting with give you more power/torque AND better FC. Tsaka plug and play lang siya, no need to splice any wires, etc. Today 07:40 AM
Sorry if i can't explain well here, PM me if anybody has more questions regarding that, and i will try my best to explain my opinion.. the claims i'm making are all just opinions and there's no actual factual evidence to back it up.
