Sorry was not able to post pics of our MS. Laging wala sa bahay eh. Today my dad used it to know whether it really has a good ride compared to our Fortuner dati. Question, can we depressurized the tires at the back to 29 psi like the tires in front? Medyo matagtag kasi.

jUST A THOUGHT... since recent discussion is all about piggy back systems, ecu programing/reprograming. It gave me a thought na sana the usd cable equipped with our MS is a direct cable connected to the vehicles computer. Haha! Where you can just connect your lap top equipped with lets say CROME/CHROME program and tweek your engine management system anytime of the day. The dyno is off course essential...

    Parang like this...

Sorry if im a tuner/sports car freak! Haha! Just a thought lang naman mga sir.

    Good day.

nope, mukhang ayaw nya akong bentahan eh!
hahaha unless he knows that i'm not interested? but whatever the reason, i didn't get it nga.

And just out of curiousity? How does one quantify a gain of 20% or 30%? isn't it more prudent to quantify thru hp gains and/or torque gains? Whenever you go to have your car tested on a dyno, its in hp output right? Or is it in percentage form?

hope it was not in the 40-45 psi as most of us noticed yes, check it right away. 30-32 will make it stand good. syado dapa 29 psi if you will look at it from the inner side.

re the piggyback systems, i asked a friend of mine who seriously considered putting it on his civic in canada. told me that he did calculations and even with the supposed gas mileage savings, it would take around 5-6 years to get back the price of having the system installed in the first place.

he opted not to have it installed. his logic being in 5-6 years hed be considering getting a new car anyways so useless din gas savings.

my take, well im still intrigued by tuning. but so far since im happy with the power output and fuel efficiency of my monty, im just going to wait for price of the technology to drop. prices are still steep and gas mileage savings still wont justify the investment. now if you can recover your investment in a year (ie lower system price) then that would be a different story

LEt me ask you this question.. at least this is how i think ah... when people decide to add chips, exhausts, filters, etc.. they all come with a promise of better mileage or better burn.. but be honest with yourself, are you really thinking about that? Or are you thinking how much faster is your car going to be? hehehe My take is, these upgrades will indeed give you better mileage and more efficiency, but since we wanna go faster (BECAUSE WE CAN!) we'll be doing harder revs hence seem as if our gas runs out faster than before the upgrades.

regarding these chips, like i said, i heard there are 2 monteros with them, try to find them and test drive their units, i'm sure you'll forget all about the gas consumption and efficiency and only think of how is this montero going to stop? hahahaha

Definitely the 2.5 for fuel consumption, but if you want more luxurious features, take the 3.2 SE, but IMO, the 300k difference is not worth it for me.

monty undergoing major c-section for a top-of-the-line audio setup.

    almost everything out.

3-layers of RF deadskin and dampers

fiber-glass / wood housing for a 12-incher sub. looks halloweenish for now but wait for the finished product!

btw, not mine. Mine is already done today... finally.

Although ok naman talaga ang bling-bling but the Lenso suggests a more Macho appeal
Actually, I still need to be convinced to change the wheels of my monty. I'm happy with the stocks wheels for now. I've already made a lot of upgrades inside and outside (body kits and full audio setup, hids and changed all dome lights to white LEDs, etc) except for the shoes.

    Should I?

I'm planning to setup my 4x2 MS's dvd and audio. My budget is 50k, and my target setup is speaker upgrades, sub, amp, and dvd receiver/monitors. Nothing fancy on the audio side, just decent SQ and decent bass will do.

I've backread Mickey's Autosound, Winterpine and LA Cars as some sources.
Between the 2, which is more recommended based on quality of work and breadth of items to choose from? Any other recommendations based on my requirements?

    Thanks in advance.
