andrewbugs, ilan na tinakbo ng pajero mo? try mo rin PM si speedyfix maramami din nagpapagawa sa kanya.
lumalabas na yata wear and tear parts ng mga 4x4 pajero na early models. 9 years narin pala.

sir PB, 80km ang tinakbo. by the way, pinasok ko na ang shop beside my place. Warranty ang name ng shop. sabi ng mekaniko top-repair lang daw ang kailangan (hopefully). ang labor is 7k for the entire job, and warranty 1 month. this pm they will inform me what parts to buy.

andrewbugs, paano nangyari nung nasira yung timing chain? umaandar ka ba? did you try to restart the car nung namatay?
jru120, hindi mo na pinatry pa repair yung lumang alternator mo?

PB, Sabi ng Mitsu Carworld chief mechanic, timing chain tension should be checked at least every 100k mileage this is conservative according to him.
Problem is some of the owner's here of Pajero w/ 4M40 is 2nd owner na.
Not sure if the mileage indicated in the ODOMETER is real or adulterated.
The best way to be sure is to have check kahit wala pa tayo nararamdaman sa Pajero natin. That's what I've been doing with my Pajero now. Kahit sure ako sa mileage ko. I have it checked while calibration is being perform. Nadala na kasi ako.
Problem with timing chain is lumalaw yan gaya rin ng chain ng Bikes. Napopud din ang link ng chain. We need to replace it when time comes. Kelangan natin ma prevent na tumalon ito at ma damage further yun engine natin. Hindi sya napuputol pero tumatalon. Imgain kung magka clearance ang bawat link ng 1mm sa dami nun pag pinagsasama mo pati timing mahirap hulihin at malamang lumundag na sya.
Some indicator are Noisy engine at 1st start in the morning. Erratic engine performance. This is cause of engine in correct timing due to loose tension of timing chain.

larshell, tried opening the valve cover, kailangan yata tanggalin yung yung top end, para macheck yung mga tensioners, medyo natakot ako baka di ko mabalik, dami kakalasin just to check. pati timing chain kakalasin narin. baka di ko mabalik lalo masira. is there an easier way na di na kakalasin chain?
fieldmasterPH, at 150k, change uli all fluids pati sa driveline. imho nasa 100k ako ngayon and napansin ko na parang kailangan next project is yung mga rubber hoses and clamps. medyo malambot na kasi ang yung mga dulo na na may clamps lumolobo na and may konting lumalabas nang white powder sa collant bypass ko. . though I havent checked kung ilan lahat yung hoses. sa coolant lines and isa sa turbo na daanan ng oil. sabay sabay na palitan para isang gawa nalang.

tsaka anong accessories ang bagay sa Field Master? yung simple lang pero gwapings.. thanks..
repair kit lang. car care nut says, for toyotas, he recommends entire assembly replacement for...
