Tama jan nga ata, gawin ko sana inspirasyon kaso nagbago isip ko.....ang mahal ng mags na yun...sabi ko nalang sa sarili ko stock is good..stock is good paulit ulit umepekto naman
Diba stock is good?![]()
downshifter, My 2000 Pajero survived 8yrs with out the Turbo Timer, until now hindi pa nasisira ang turbo ng Pajero ko. I guess my best practice is to slowdown when I'm near my destination or home. Ok pa namanuntil now.
Myth #3: You have to let a turbo diesel engine idle for two minutes before you turn it off.
Fact #3: This is a current myth that has a basis of fact stemming from many years ago. In the early days of turbochargers, a two-minute cool down at idle allowed the turbocharger to dissipate any remaining spinning inertia and the oil circulation cooled the bearing. Today's turbo-diesels are a different story. There is really no reason to "cool down" a turbo-diesel these days, but you won't hurt anything by doing it either.

larshell, same model tayo and same as yours never had a problem with the turbo even without a turbo timer. jru120 tks for the article.i was worried for a while.
*larshell/nelany: many thanks.....but is it advisable or much better magpa-install na din ng turbo timer since 2K lang naman ito?
downshifter, For me it is like using an umbrella while inside your house, a waste of money but if it will give you a peace of mind then do it. (IMHO)
What worries me is that you get a turbo timer and after awhile nasira ang turbo mo, then you'll say to yourself dapat kasi dati pako nagpa-install ng turbo timer. he he he(thought lang po)
Remember, what I'm saying is just based on my experience don't have technical knowledge about it.![]()
There's a lot of high end TT for high end turbo charged cars if you browse the internet so this TT might be really helping prolong the life of the turbo.
Siguro personal preference na natin if we want to install a TT. If you can afford it then go install one.![]()
imho, it true na hindi talaga kailangan, but for me turbo timer useful saakin, there are times magpapasalamat ka na meron kang TT for conveenience. lalo na pag nag hiway ka na hi speeds ng matagal, and you stop at a restaurant to eat, pag gutom na gutom kana pwede mo iwanan na umaandar, remember 2 minutes is a long time kapag wala ka magawa sa loob ng kotse.pag city driving lang you would rarely need a turbo timer, kaya nga sa TT ko pag short trips lang na slow moving, pag patay ko engine and the TT intervenes, you only have to step on the brake pedal for 2 secs and this will automatically shut down the turbo timer, this is to save fuel pag hindi naman ako nag hi rev. . but pag seaprate sa alarm hindi nalang siguro. hindi mo ma arm yung alarm while the TT is running, hihintay karin.
paminsan din pag pinapahiram ko sa ibang driver yung pajero ko, instead of me expalining to him about cool down, sabihin ko nalang basta arm mo yung alarm pag baba mo and iwan mo na, hayaan mo siya umandar. assured ako na macocool down parin.
ganyan ako ka OC sa pajero ko,nasobrahan na minsan, I guess dami narin naming pinagsamahan kaya spoiled saakin, plus narin If you use synthetics Im sure this will also help prevent your oil from turning into varnish sa bearing ng turbo. synthetics have higher heat tolerance. varnish = turbo killer. pag sira turbo magiging mausok at high speeds and less power. may mga nakakasabay na akong gen 2.5 sa nlex na mausok habang hi speed,

PB, Sorry to disagree with you about it. Well as I have said I have no technical knowledge about it is just pure experience, but I must agree with you that maybe it is useful if you are always on Hi Rev and immediate engine shut off may damage the Turbo charger. I guess what downshifter should do is to buy one and have a peace of mind. 2k worth peace of mind is not bad.![]()
larshell, ala lagut bakit may apology pa diyan, kwentuhan lang tayo bro, sharing lang tayo no need for apologies, nahiya tuloy ako sayo, di ko mean mag disagree sayo, sabi ko nga its really not necesary dag dag ek ek lang parang power windows you dont need it but it makes life easier.
