April 17th, 2007 03:12 PM #1431hi guys! first time poster here. i am in the market for a 2nd-hand suv within a 800K to 875K budget and i need one by next month. after some searching, i find within this price range some 2002-2003 pajeros, 2005-2006 escapes, and 2004-2005 everests, etc etc. what is the best choice in this list? is there another 2nd hand suv out there that i failed to mention? and yup, i'm obviously an suv newbie as well.
i know this is a pajero thread and might be getting overwhelming praises for the pajero, but i read some of your not-so-pleasant experiences with pajeros so i hope these guys in particular help me out.
i also spied within striking distance of my budget, a brand new tucson....
what do i choose???? i guess i am what sellers would call a 'serious buyer'.

April 23rd, 2007 05:22 PM #1433thanks kha, pero medyo luma na for me yung 96 to 98s, regardless of resale value, condition, prestige, pedigree, etc. that's easily a 10 year old vehicle.
expeds naman scare me in terms of cost of upkeep. it's just too expensive to maintain. my dad's unit had rear shock absorber problems, cost him over 100K to fix! plus, i went to a ford dealership inquiring about new suvs and they said i could trade-in old cars. when i said i could trade-in a 2001 exped, they said mababa ang offer nila dun kasi bagsak talaga value nun, walang bumibili. they offered 450K to 500K for it pending actual inspection.

April 25th, 2007 11:00 AM #1435kha, why not pajero fm??? can you or anyone here explain to me in simple terms bakit wag na fm.
why not xtrail??? my neighbor drives that and ayaw ko naman parang nangopya o sunod-sunuran lang. silly really but this is honestly my reason. hehehe. yung trooper naman di type ng wife ko.
actually meron na akong mga choices na 2002 and 2003 pajero fm, of course magkaiba na mileage. a difference of about 15,000 kms (2003-55K, 2002-70K) and sa presyo, mas mahal yung 2003 ng P80K. which 1?? Is 80K worth the difference of 1year model and 15,000kms???

April 25th, 2007 12:03 PM #1436Bro, if i were you, go to brand new tucson. wala ka pang problema iisipin (may warranty pa) kampante ka pa. ang Ang Tucson ay 5 star sa NHTSA sa
FRONTAL CRASH (DRIVER AT PASSENGER)
SIDE CRASH (FRONT AND REAR SEAT)

April 30th, 2007 08:57 PM #1439First time Poster here.
Sorry, if my first post in this forum is to seek advise from the expert. I'm an owner of Fieldmaster with 115K mileage. Last week I drove to Baguio with my Pajero and have noticed weird engine response as i reached the city. Up there my pajero is emitting both black and white smoke as i revved it which i have never experience in my 5yrs pajero driving. It was the first time that my pajero hit baguio road. Another thing is that my pajero is encountering near overheat condition. All these gone when i reached the sea level altitude. Are these problem altitude-related? Is there something wrong with my pajero, please help as I'm still worried though even after a week has passed. Salamat po.
