Guys, do you already have a fix of the "tok" sound coming from underneath our Mz3? Mine is 2.0 sedan and the sound is getting more frequent and more pronounced.
Petron Xtra since day 1. I do not suspect that it is an engine knock since the sound comes from underneath somewhere between the middle and the back part of the vehicle. Also I only hear it on a specific circumstance. Whenever I hear it, the sound goes away when I depress or lift the accelerator pedal to change the RPM. So when it happens, it could make that particular sound not longer than 2 seconds. By the way, I only hear it when the radio is off or has low volume but it still bothers me from time to time.
Could still be knock because it's accelerator dependent. My 2NZ also has problems with Petron fuels so I stick to Silver or Fuelsave. No such knocks in the mountains between Nasugbu and Ternate.
The knock coming from somewhere in the firewall is another story though.

I am still not convinced that it is engine knock since there is no similar sound of a knock or ping when totally idle or being revved when idle. One ironic thing is that I never heard that sound when I went to Ternate and Nasugbu last month. There was one time that I suspected that it was coming from the exhaust or the CAT but I never was able to confirm it at all.
Hopefully that's just a loose part that resonates at certain frequencies. Ask them to tighten everything underneath on your next checkup. Worst case would be a faulty gearbox. There's one reported case of a gearbox replacement already.
The "lagutok" sound happens when I go through humps at low speeds or when turning also at low speeds. I'm hearing it from underneath. Sometimes coming from the side of right rear tire but most of the time from the from tires or somewhere in the front. Im suspecting shocks because when the shocks gets pressed as you pass the humps that's when you hear the sound. Most of the time its lagutok but sometimes it creaking sound. Will have it check tomorrow by casa as its getting to be irritating already
The US TSB states that the cause is not enough grease in the shock mounts. When it dries out it becomes noisy.
guys sino pa sainyo that you can say you got best deal on a mazda 3,
can you post or pm me his or her no.

Casa already has a fix for the "lagutok" sound. Was told that they need to install a rubber insulator somewhere in the shocks. They will also replace the both front shocks. Downside is i have wait for at least a month as the rubber is to be sourced from mazda plant abroad. Will bear with the irritating sound in the meantime
