Arrived home last night from trip to Shanghai, it was truly an experience that I won't forget, mz3 GPS works great at the expressways telling me where all the speed cameras are located and the speed limits but once we arrived shanghai, it got confused and I ended up driving thru a bus lane and the result was me being deducted 3 penalty points by the traffic police.

Anyway, total distance travelled is 581kms (round trip), used 33.81liters of fuel for an average of 17.18li/km (manual computation), average speed around 80kph, but sometimes I let it reach 120kph

Been arranging 2.0R purchased for this month, still having second thought on discount for subaru xv though. Any two cents guys? i hiked mountains probably just 6 times a year.

Well, it will depend na yan sa taste mo. Not an apple to apple comparison dahil magkaibang category sila. Siguro choose between height and sportiness nalang ang masasabi ko dito. Height on the XV, sporty on the Mz3

shortlisted the XV more than a year ago together with my 2.0R hatch. Back then the price was somewhat prohibitive since I'm planning on buying cash, but few months after I bought my Mazda3, the XV's price was sliced and leveled with the M3 2.0 that I almost regret it came late(the XV). But I'm still satisfied with my decision, driving one is effortless that I wouldn't mind driving it for 17 hours during road trips.

Thanks man, is 120k insurance premium for 5 years just right for the price of 2.0R? Pardon my query, aiming for my first car.

Brothah Testa was on point...you're comparing apples & oranges...(literally if you talk colors:D).
I honestly looked into the XV when it launched.
Utilitarian 1st came to mind.... designed to be useful or practical rather than attractive.
If it's your lone car, go for the 'orange'.

In my case, I needed an easy econobox/daily hauler. The hobo 1.5M3 gave me way way more than just those....plus the unwelcomed addiction I couldn't kick.
Seldom does a new car thrill me this long really, I'm even surprised.
Subaru's biggest turn off? That ticking time bomb CVT...I'm running as far away from those.
Oh, you must be aware this is an M3 forum....not the best place to seek unbiased advice. Don't get swayed by mutants here!:D
    I kid....hehe.
Usually, we're torn between need & want.
In my case, I needed & wanted the same. 'Apple' won hands down, but I got the silver version as red just isn't me. ....Absolutely no regrets!:D

They're absolutely correct. For me it will depend on how I'll mainly use the car. But hands down on your choices sir! We also have a subie forester in the family and having driven both, (m3 for a good 15min) I dont think you'll regret whichever one you choose. But the mazda 3 is a damn good looking ***y beast :D

Still Soul Red is my first choice bro Travs. Hehe. Mast3r JaM3s keeps on insinuating that it's my favorite where in fact that's the only color he knows. Haha. 😁😁
Anyhow, silver is still a great choice! 👍

Aside from silver & soul red, in no particular order white, black, midnight blue were also my choices but i went with the classic color (other than grey). Fortunately titanium flash was not yet available so it was one less choice to worry about.

Mast3r JaM3s wouldn't consider any other color, do you? 😂😂😂

Gotta warn you, wrence sir....I dunno if I'm the only 1 who has sensed this, but there's that eerie feeling of uncomfortably haunting stares from everyone everywhere...Either it's lost sanity, gained paranoia....or it's just that car.:D
You'll be safer w/ the XV as noone will give it a 2nd glance.:D....right, GrandMast3r Geo brah?

Attention: 2.0 Gen3 Mown3rs Interested to get a lot more power or economy or both w/o any hardware?

Mathew Wilson of Orange Virus is offering 1 last BIG Sale of their custom remote tune package!!!!
Tunes, sent by email w/ full DIY instructions, are software based w/ ECU access via EpifanSoft's MazdaEdit. It is reversible if you wanna go back to stock. No hardware attached to ECU. The 2.0 Sky can be tuned for higher octane/economy/power, whichever combos are requested.
OVTuned has seen gains of 15-30horses on the M6 & CX5. They can tune stock or w/ mods like SRI & exhausts. They found best results w/ JBR Short Ram Intakes & Racing Beat Exhausts.

Join Orange Virus' "Mazda 3 tuning Group" on FB for more details....Final Price will depend on number of Group Buy participants....
Hurry as once he starts tuning the MX5 ND, this chance might not be available anymore.

This is Mathew Wilson's quoted message:

"Folks, Because we will be super busy this winter Tuning and R&D on the new Miata MX5 ND, We are going to have one last big tuning sale. All vehicles, MZR and skyactiv.
Price will be according to amount of people interested.
10+ People Pricing will be $400.00 for the complete tuning package.
please POST here if you are interested!"

Please don't throw questions my way as I'm just the humble doorman/messenger here and....they've not touched the hobo 1.5s....No such variant in North America.😞
OVT responds thru FB & email. Check em out!
