About two months ago I noticed a strange humming sound (ugong) from the front of my Sedona. I thought at that time that it was just road noise from the new tires I bought (Dunlop EC 201), but after researching a bit on various "ugong" threads on Tsikot, I found out that it might be the wheel bearings.
Anyway, I had the van inspected today and as it turns out, my left and right front wheel bearings were already eroded to the point that they were causing the ugong that I could hear at both low and high speeds.
The replacement bearings at our local auto supply store cost P2,800 each. After they were installed, my ride became its normal quiet self again.
Just wanted to share

May 24th, 2006 11:51 PM #1095mikey, that's good news that you found the source of the sound and its not the tires. I got 1 pc of the same tire but havent used it as its still as a spare. But I think I may need to replace my oem tires as I notice the rear is starting to wobble the whole rear of the car, and may make the passengers dizzy.

mikey, sure, you can drop it off at the shop. sayang nga... i was there three days ago kaya lang i haven't ventured into these forums yet kc. sana na-sms kita noon.
i remember replacing the bearings in my nissan patrol at least every 50k km. same thing din, may ugong. our kias are heavy cars -- that's why i am not the least bit surprised that they erode wheel bearings too.
btw, my carnival figured in a low speed fender-bender with a security agency's revo last week. the revo's bumper and headlight and signal light cluster were damaged. my vehicle suffered a dent and a major scratch less than a foot long above the rear wheel well. not a good idea to engage into a long argument with a brimming with jaguars. i just let them off after the incident report was filed.
i'm off to the pdr and paint forums this time!
altec, i absolutely love the dunlop lemans rv tire i have on my vehicle right now. my only gripe is that they wear out too fast. they are just ten months young but they look three years old now. i might be getting new tires by july again.
jabr, my unit is from the gray market. my dealer told me that the 2006 grand carnival isn't available here yet.Last edited by diesoline; May 27th, 2006 at 05:34 PM.

May 30th, 2006 10:48 AM #1100Guys, i just want to know what's the correct tire pressure (PSI) for the Sedona...
seems like the front of Sedona is too heavy.. I already put 38 psi (I use Nitro) but it still has lump (Parang medyo plat pa rin) most especially when I parked it on uneven pavement...
thanks..
Are they on track to surpass last year's sales?
