September 22nd, 2004 05:18 PM #91Rodski,
cn u plssend me the email add of KIA.
i nid to know if i can remove the diapram in the PCV system.
Local shops dis-connects the PCV hose fro the air intake and have it vented naturally > same with pajero > but mine has a catch canister with a diapram so am still contempleting disconecting it.
Also casa shut my EGR pipe ( GI plate n left alittle hole).
For Direct injection talagang maselan laging pa aclibrate vs the common rail type.

September 22nd, 2004 06:15 PM #92Hello Tet,
The Pvc can be vented in the air. Unfortunately, it will spay the vaporized oil in the engine bay area. So it would be nice to contain the oil and stop making the engine dirty. My carnival has no catch canister it goes directly to the post air filter intake pipe. which contaminates the intake manifold.
Puwede palang patayin ang egr. In fact the diesel gurus in germany are contemplating of removing the egr and having a soot catch vessel containing urea to clean the black smoke.
as for the email of KIA just go to kiamotors.com and click on contact us. I still haven't had any reply from them (you have to choose a country) sucks... I specifically mentione the egr,pcv fouling of the intake manifold.
tnx

November 1st, 2004 09:46 AM #93lumabas na talaga ang crdi ng starex. Which would be the stronger diesel engine, yung existing diesel engine ng sedona o yung crdi ng starex?
New findings, kaya pala 5 star crash rating ang sedona, I was bumped in the rear, and the rear bumper dent was not near as I expected. When I looked under the bumper, there is a steel flat or i beam running parallel to the bumper! Unlike other cars where the bumpers are hollow! Galing! Kaya pala ang bigat ng sedona/carnival, it has reinforcement even with the bumper!

Sorry to hear that you got bumped, altec, but thanks anyway for that interesting detail about the Sedona's reinforcements.

Most cars in the U.S. have those things inside the bumper, other companies probably remove it for Asian markets.
