interesting, about this change to 17s. di ba meron guide sa driver's door about the specs to 17s?
15 ba sa lx?
junet, can you please post pics nga nung leatherette seat covers mo? gusto makita ni kumander. sinukat pa ba nila or may gawa na?

December 18th, 2007 03:16 AM #452hi,
just got my carens the other day, automatic crdi lx kinuha namin ni misis, sarap ng ride and lakas talaga ng torque.
i wanted to get an ex version sana pero medyo kinapos sa budget, anyway the only thing na gusto ko lang naman sa ex is the tire size, roof rail and the airbag.
i was looking at some sorrento kanina pwede kayang ikabit yung roofrail nun sa carens? medyo mas gusto ko kasi yung ganung klase lang ng roofrail yung medyo low profile parang sa escape na previous version.
by the way i am selling my kia rio 2006 na manual transmission baka may takers. di ko pa nalalagay sa classified ads.
thanks sa mga review ng carens, kayo ang nagpa decide sa akin to get one.
the last time ata ako nag post dito more than 4 years ago pa, di ko nga alam na may login and password pa ako.

parang tire pressure guide lang yung nandun. verify ko mamaya.
15 sa LX and 16 sa EX
in other countries like US and Europe, ang base nila ay 16 and yung high end 17.

December 18th, 2007 03:02 PM #454...tire pressure guide nga lang yung nandun sa door panel. na mention dun sa guide how much pressure you ought to put on 17s.
as i said, sa manual ko nakita yung warning (about changing the steering gearbox) pero tulad nga ng nasabi ng iba, sa ibang countries e 17s ang EX ibig sabihin ba iba ang "steering gearbox" na nakaka kabit sa kanila? kasi di ba 16 lang ang EX dito sa atin. So kahit EX or LX ang carens natin, if we want to change to 17s e we should replace the steering gearbox together with the tires? (as per manual's advice)
e ano ba yung "steering gearbox" at ano function nun? sorry for my ignorance ha

Just got my Carens last friday!!
It's a red CRDI LX M/T, tire size is 205/60 R16. My family really liked it especially my kids. Ang dami kasing cubby holes/compartments.
Had it full tank last friday night and after 240 kms of mixed city/ highway driving and mixed cruising/aggressive style of driving, nasa 3/4 pa ung reading ng fuel gauge.
Pag umabot ng 500 kms yung tripmeter ko, magpa-full tank ulit ako and let's see kung aabot ng 12km/liter. (sana nga...)
My dealer is Kia Cubao and the freebies I got are: 3M tint (light lang), matting, white corduroy seat cover and back-up sensor.

December 19th, 2007 04:50 PM #457good day everyone. i'm a newbie at the forum. i had my silver lx carens crdi automatic last october and it has 1400 km reading already. it was thru this forum that helped me decide to get the carens over other options. my wife and i are very happy its looks, function and performance
. considered getting the ex but as with the others a 125k additional was discouraging. roof rails are an attractive addition but knowing i may not be able to use them made me to settle for the lx instead. just want to share the plusses that IMO works very well for me as well as the negatives that many of you might agree on
1. the 7 seating capacity is great
2. cupholders and compartments galore
3. 3 charger outlets
4. easy ingress and egress
5. high ceiling
6. driver friendly stickshift location
7. powerful aircon
8. solid feel of the doors
9. powerful engine
10. those plastic mouldings that makes it look like an SUV
for the minusses
1. 7km/l FC in a purely city driving set up with minimum traffic (hope this gets better)
2. the non telescoping steering wheel
3. the footbrake (i still unconsciously reach for a handbrake)
i'm looking a rear spoiler and other accessories. hope they'll be available soon.

December 19th, 2007 05:44 PM #458welcome sa forum bonechip. So you "looked beyond 'brands' and saw the better features of the carens. It was very hard for me to do this, I never expected I'll buy a Kia someday, I'm glad (just like you) that I did (for the carens). Sana after 3 years e ganito pa din ang sinasabi natin
we got our unit just last month and is now at 1800++ km. about the FC, average is 11 km/li; worst case is 6-7 on heavy traffic and best is at 14 (highway). pero pag average manila traffic, tingin ko its not as bad as 7. m/t nga pala yung unit namin, siguro mas matipid ng konti compared sa a/t.

December 20th, 2007 02:38 AM #459tested the fuel consumption ng carens crdi automatic kanina, from las pinas to bataan and back mga around 260km ata yun, nag 13 ako per ltr, considering ang traffic ng palabas ng manila and umikot ikot pa kami sa province, although nasa 1800-2800 lang ang ave rpm ko kasi di na kailangan tapakan para mag speedup ang lakas talaga, nag 140 ako sa nlex ng hindi ako umabot ng 3000 rpm. and even sa overtaking di kailangan apakan ng malalim ang pedal ang lakas ng hatak. by the way naka nitro ang gulong ko baka nakatulong ng konti.
sir bogart, 16 gulong mo without upgrade ba yan? kasi mine is 15 ang nakakabit.

They probably sold so few cars last year that even a 112% increase still hardly makes a change in...
