silicon, i have the original fog lamps and i hardly use them. hindi ako masyadong nalalakasan sa kanila although i don't know what is the wattage of the lamp itself. yung "throw" kasi ng fog lamps doesn't seem to be that far. the headlights are more than enough for the purpose. of course i may be comparing these with those installed in my itlog. but these are "pencil-throw type" fog lamps.

Thanks for the info, itlog na pula. 7,500 din kasi ang fog lamps, not really cheap...

tnx bro, sheld out 12K inclusive of railings...
Lamentably they drilled holes on the roof for a secure fit, but they also treated the holes with anti rust coating and sealed it with black silicon.
Didnt bother with the warranty aspect, bahala na c batman hehe, also the manager of the local distributor here advised me that if i wanted a roofrack installed i better source it outside of kasa, otherwise it wud cost me an arm n a leg

Another point, if later on rust will develop on the holes, it is but fair that i assume the risk...but as to rust sa other parts of the car, i presume the warranty would still apply, the warranty is not totally avoided by the installation of the roofrack

I hope you don't put too much weight on that rack. Alam ko limited weight lang pwede icarry nyang carryboy. Their roofrails doesnt seem built for heavy loads.Nagbutas sila sa roof?
Thule website says they have no available carry system yet for the Carens with factory roofrails. Malapad kasi yung crossbar. I could not attach my thule bike rack and the standard basket carrier. Pwede siguro itatali ko na lang.
yup sir, minimal weight lng naman lagay ko, mostly luggages lng...tnx for the advise
im pondering on bike clamps, dnt knw if the railings can handle the stress

Hi, a question for all your Carens owners:

What is the wheel size, offset and PCD of your Carens wheels? I read in the nov 2007 issue of C! Magazine that the EX model has 205 65R15 steel wheels and the LX gets 205 60R16 alloys.

The reason i ask is because we might get a Carens 2 months from now and it will probably be the Manual CRDi version. I happen to have a set of 4 alloy wheels from my other car that have 205 60R15 tires on them and have a PCD of 5x112. The offset is 45.

Do you think I can mount the new tires of the Carens LX onto my alloy wheels, and use them on the Carens?

Also, is the Manual version comfortable to drive in city traffic, and is it really that matipid? I read that it got 20km/l in highway driving, but I plan to use this mostly in the city.

Thanks in advance for replies!

Kevin,

You have the sizes the other way around. The EX (which I have) has the 16" wheels. LX has the 15". As for the pcd fitment, I'm not sure what it is although yes, 5 holes siya. Not sure about the offset as well.

I have the automatic and I'm getting 12km/liter now. But that is perhaps 50/50 city/hiway. And it's tough feathering her sa ngayon because of all the torque you have for a hefty vehicle. It does seem to suck on city driving pero I really can tell for sure since I drive into Manila from Sta. Rosa.

Mari

Hey, does anyone know where I can still find this November 2007 issue of C! magazine? I looked in one of the Booksales and Filbars branches near my office and didn't see a single issue of C! magazine... I'd like to have this issue as a souvenir. Hehehe..

Hi wayward, where did you have it installed? I share your sentiments regarding the warranty issue.

Sir ajoe11_03 nice interior chrome moldings, its a bit expensive though, last time I ask for the price for that from my kia dealer is around PHP2,800 but anyway what is 700 compare to the satisfaction you get...

Update on my latest FC(LX / MT), 13KM/L, again its approximately 50/50 city and hiway driving using Shell diesel, I'm currently trying Petron and will compare which is better.

That looks really nice bro! Teka.... what exactly is included? From your pics, I can see 4pcs chrome moldings on the aircon vents, 3pcs chrome moldings around the three aircon control knobs... where else?
