Hyundai has just released it's latest CRDI engine, the R-Engine CRDI E-VGT.

I reckon Carens will get the R-Engine 2.0L with a whopping 186hp/392Nm

Either next year or sa 2010. Sa roadmap kasi ng KIA, CarensIII is only up to 2009.

Thanks for the info. So matagal pa pala ... In 2009 or 2010, baka marelease na ito sa Europe/US then after 1 or 2 years dito sa atin.
By that time, sana ibigay din ng Kia yung mga safety at iba pang options sa mga versions na irerelease dito sa atin..

Guys, tanong ko lang, yung rear bumper ba ng carens ay made of fiber glass or plain steel sheet ??? kasi nagpakabit ako ng back up sensor eh, takot ako baka magkaroon ng rust in the future.

hmm, it should be flexible plastic or similar. Self-healing na mga bumpers these days e. Wala na yung steel.

Though i have not checked a Carens' bumper yet.

civic is gaining up on us....and fast. Halatang nagpapa-PAN. Sana mag-overheat computer nila.

Sir snake888 here is my proof for you that a carens unit can go over 200 kph.

Thanks for sharing this Mschumacher but I still find it hard to believe. Even my 1.5 civic with 110hp reached 200+ kph when I jacked the front end of the car in order for the front wheels to rotate freely without any load. Anyway, no need to prove something just drive safely and enjoy your ride.

just wanted to share that we took our carens for a drive to Legazpi Albay to see the magnificent Mayon Volcano, Cagsawa Ruins and the Hoyop-Hoyopan cave.. Total travel distance at 1,200 KMS (including the side trips) and consumed 2,800 pesos of diesel fuel * 38.98 pesos per liter.. estimated FC was 16kms/liter.

Well the Carens was amazing in taking very sharp curves along the way with speed of 60kph to 80kph.. there was a curve that is so sharp i can hear the rear tires slightly screeching at 80kph .. but still i can feel the carens is stable on the road.. Braking power is also superb with 4 wheel disc brakes, even during hard braking the car is very stable and does not have the tendency to slip or lock eventhough it does not have ABS..

We also pass by the old zigzag road where people call it "bituka" or "M" since the road is very steep with very sharp turns.. i was amazed by the carens engine power took it very easily..

The suspension is great in taking in bumps and some rough roads.

Also the engine is so powerful, over taking long and speeding buses is just a breeze..

Now we are really convinced that we got our moneys' worth in buying the Kia Carens.. CRDi + VGT + 4 Wheel Disc Brakes + superb driver you can never go wrong with a Kia Carens..

Mga sirs, need advise lang po. Am planning to drive Carens to Baguio (from Laguna)this coming December. So far, our ODO is 9k++. Should I send it first to casa for the 10k PMS including change oil or better yet after the trip?

Wala pa sigurong 1k yung total distance travelled mo after the trip (mga 600-700 kms siguro)..

Better do it after the trip. At least, mabibirit mo ang Carens ng husto at pagbalik mo ready na siya for a fresh injection of oil...

Starbright nga pero di ko rin sigurado kung aling branch or kung marami itong branches..

Kia Sportage yung sasakyan. The complaint was posted in different forums (kasama na tsikot.com) and it caused a lot of headaches dun sa me ari ng shop.

Pero sana naresolve na rin ang issue.. But it's good to be informed about the quality of service also..lalo na at Kia din ang papalagyan ng body kits..
