Jezz!!!!! ganun pala un....hay...anyway, thanks u all for the info....kaya nga i told my in-law na susuonod not to park on a narrow street na lang. My SA told me na may pagkamahal daw ang tail light ng carens kasi although na cover lang ang nabasag, buong tail light kit daw ang papalitan, dont know if its true, i'll just wait for the feedback at home, my SA is still checking the price of the tail light.

Thanks silicon, its that kind of feeling na like for you have a son, then one day pag uwi nya ng bahay eh may bukol or black eye sya and di pa nya kilala kung sino gumawa nun...hay...anyway, expected naman na there will come a time na may ganitong mangyayari, buti na lang maliit lang ang damage

Hay!!! got bad news back home...my carens was a victim of hit and run, scratch on the bumper and a hole the size on a 1peso coin sa tail light, my SA said something like pag ang amount ay konti lang usually the insurance will only pay 60%, tama ba ito??? d bah we insured our car so that when something happens like this eh wala tayong babayaran, and now bakit ganito??? jezzzz!!!! my bp suddenly shoots up!!!!

what you have to do is review your insurance policy. Look for the deductible portion which state how much is share. For example if the deductible states that 1% than your share is 1% of amount insured . Lets say you insure it for one million then your share will be 1% of one million and thats PS 10,000. If your repair cost is 20,000 than you have to pay Ps 10,000.00. the excess of 10,000.00 will be shoulder by your insurance. Check your policy if your deductible is 1%, 05% or the minimum of Ps 3,000.00.

I don't think Carens turbo is water cooled. But you can take a look at the engine exhaust manifold and see if there are water pipings there. Turbo damage happens when after a high RPM run then the engine is immediately turned off. The turbo still spins at very high rpm and the oil supply is cutoff. When it overheats, it may damage the bearings. So take a while (10+ seconds) before turning off the engine.

By the way, an expat friend of mine will be leaving the country soon and selling his 6 months old Carens, gas EX A/T (black color), ito yung high end naka 16" stock mags. PM me your cell num if you're interested.

Went to Kia Pasig last Saturday morning to ask them to assist me in folding the 2nd row seats to make a cargo bed... I tried several times but the seatcovers had tied down the seat itself, making it impossible to lift up. Anyhow, they re-tied everything and it worked out okay...

While I was there, I made a comment to the SA why they had a price increase just when the Carens was finally gaining a lot of ground with consumers... Sabi nya, they really had to do it due to increasing costs... pero, here's the clincher... he told me that another round of price increases might happen in July or August??? He's expecting the price of the Carens EX CRDi A/T to settle in the range of P1.27M!!! Sabi ko, that's already the price of the new CRV! While I would personally still choose the Carens over a CRV because of its 7-seater function, I hope this isn't true... the SA told me that all brands will be doing their own price increases daw so pantay pantay pa rin... Somehow, this doesnt seem true from what I'm seeing...


Anyhow, on to happier things... that same day, we went to SM Fairview... tapos, biglaan nagdecide kami bumili ng 6-foot tall wooden shoe cabinet from Our Home... Although my wife was a bit doubtful since it was so tall, it fit perfectly in our Carens with the 2nd and 3rd row righthand seats down and the front passenger seat moved forward. Tapos, my wife and son sat in the lefthand 2nd row seat and the yaya with our baby girl in the left hand 3rd row seat! AMAZING!

this is insane! from P1,060,000 to P1,270,000 in expand of 6 months. almost price narin ng chevrolet captiva(diesel 4x2 variant).

Jezz!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING??? If im a buyer i might as well buy a crv in that case...hay, are they really that confident na mabebenta nila ang carens at that price??? i doubt it!!!! sana tinaas na lang nila ng sagad, let say 1.5M para wala ng bumili sa kanila....nakakainis!!!

Sori guys for the outburst, its just that increase in just 6months is too much!!! although, i already bought one, pero i also want others na makabili din ng carens and experience how this car handles and ride, and also para dumami din tayo .....but now poooff, gone, out of the window!!!!

i got the latest quotations kahapon, tumaas na prices, over 1m na ang carens...... u think its still worth the money over innova or over other SUV's?

Comparing it to innova, With its current price increase I would certainly choose Carens over innova due to its smoothness and power. But comparing it with other SUV's like the Tucson or Sportage. I'd go for this two, because it is a notch higher than the former two vehicle. But if your decision is going to be based on value for money(Resale value not included), power and seating capacity. It's carens hands down.

Like other tsikoteers, I'm deeply frustrated about the price increase. Kahit yung Bank nagulat din sa tinaas. Sabi nila they expected an increase pero hindi ganyan kalaki! Sobra nga daw and come to think of it, hindi pa updated yung ibang bank sa first increase (yung record nila na pinakita sa akin eh -Carens LX MT CRDi - 875k pa)

Sayang nga talaga yung opportunity for other Carens lovers (and potential buyers) like me. Naabutan na ako ng price increase and I'm really thinking twice about having one. But I would like to still thank sir Ace8tan who was still very understanding and accomodating kahit na hindi ako nakapagdecide on time. Still, I m hoping for a nice deal (not necessarily the best deal) which can offset the price increase in the coming days/months. But I am slowly looking at other options (like the Tucson and the Livina). "Dream girl" ko na lang ang "Carens".. hehehehe
