HID is recommended for carens for its projector type head lamps.. additional wiring for the HID bulbs will be needed, you original head lamp wiring will not be replaced nor upgraded.. but if you want use ordinary bulb, just make sure you get not higher than 80 watts so you can still use the original wiring, 100 watts higher needs upgrade of the original wirings
Hehehe thanks sir yapoy86, check ko dito sa mga local car accessories shop kng ano pwde, what brand do you recommend in case i decided to install a HID sa projector head light ng carens???![]()
Share ko lang, Carens price in Dubai as of January 2009. 1 dirhams is around 13 pesos. Don't know why there is big difference between Dubai and Phils price? Maybe we are paying so much tax?

I used to have the X-treme power bulb. No need to upgrade the wires. Kaso napundi kaagad yung 1 bulb (less than a year). Pero baka dahil may nagusisa nung pinapakabit ko, hinawakan yung bulb mismo. Nilinis ko nalang with a 3M cloth, I guess nadumihan parin. So stock bulbs ulit ako ngayon for the low beam. Yung high beam naman, Philips Power2Night (dahil walang H1 yung X-treme), so far ayos pa naman.
If ever na magpapalit ako ng bulb, sa low beam lang, pero as of now...im still looking for a shop here in bacolod who is selling the philips xtreme bulb, so far lahat ng napuntahan ko ay wala, almost all of them are selling narva bulb only.
walang blue tint yung bulb, so hindi masyadong maputi yung ilaw.
I installed the Philips X-treme power sa low beam and Osram Nightbreaker sa high beam more than 7 months ago, so far ok naman, better visibility as compared to the stock bulbs. Of course, iba ang liwanag ng HID, but then, the 4 bulbs just cost less than 2K.
Regarding the steering, nawala kasi after I sent the post sa forum kaya hindi ko na nasabi sa engineer during my 15K PMS.
Total cost of 15K pms sa Kia congressional was php 4,043.... yung engine oil were in small plastic containers.
I am a newbie to this thread and to KIA cars for that matter. I am seriously contemplating in buying a KIA Carens MT, not only because we were looking for a comfy 7-seater, but also since KIA Carens caught my attention after winning the 2008 Automobile Award. Judging from this thread, hindi ko na masundan kung ano ang good and bad feedback about the car, the after sales, and the service centers. Can anyone give me a rundown of what you love and hate with your KIA Carens? There were lots of good feedback but a couple bad ones stood out like suspension is too low, maintenance is very often, KIA's reputation for having a low resale value.
Thanks for giving me some good advice!
After sales service and maintenance – speaking from personal experience, the PMS charges are reasonable though magkakaiba ang charging ng Kia Service Centers…I have not encountered a bad experience (had mine serviced at Kia Pangasinan). PMS is every 5k kms (5, 10, 15, 20, etc)
Riding Comfort – very nice ride though yun nga lang-concerns ng karamihan dito eh yung mababang ground clearance and the suspension seems to have some issues especially after 15k kms – above. But these are largely brought about by wear and tear (i.e suspension bushings, etc)
Resale value – I brought mine not because of its resale value but because of its value for money. I have to admit it-Kia Cars tend to have low resale value if you are to compare this to Toyota or Honda. But it’s all in people’s perception and misconceptions kasi and Kia has suffered through the years because of these. Kia and Hyundai have made great strides in terms of quality and the awards that Kia have won can attest to these quality improvements. Before I brought mine, I thought not only twice or thrice but many times.
I wished that Carens had the following:
ABS, Airbags (merong driver side airbag for the EX variant top of the line though), and competitive pricing (Unfortunately, CAC’s price increases have made the Carens less competitive in the market).
So far, di naman ako nagsisisi sa choice ko. I would recommend it pag nasa below 900k ang price. Pero since it’s already above 1 million, okey pa rin siya pero marami ka na ring pwedeng pagpilian diyan sa price range na yan.
For more detailed discussion about the Carens, you can visit this Carens forum here in the Phils.

+1, pagpunta ko mall last week nakita ko carens at oo, mas maganda sya sa nabili namin innova 2009 last month, almost parehas namang spaciuosI wished that Carens had the following:

kung mga 900+ lang ang top of the line nito at ABS at dual Airbags, nakupo, baliktad sitwasyon ng innova at carens sa kalsada!

Well carens started out with an 875k tag price for a M/T unit and add 50k for an A/T unit. But at this point of time no one knows how comfy and powerful a carens was. Then it went up by 10k and shoot all the way up to a 1M+ price tag when the sales was picking up. This is the time that the carens are being known as a good MPV. Stupid move of columbia in jacking up the price of this unit so high.
