sir centum, may I have the # of mang nonoy?
Sir Centum, medyo nga hataw ako. but i normally travel at 3am para halos walang traffic. Yun lang naman talaga nagpapagal sa byahe. Kaya lang my fuel consumption is 8-9 km/l only. hi-way na yan..
It happen to me also with an alterra sa nlex. sa 160 naiwan na sya. great performance..
btw, we just got a 2006 250X Xtrail. Comments ng mag-anak ko, malayo daw sa SF ang riding comfort. Yan ang problema, nagiging bias na yata kami. Everytime i rode with others SUV, compare ko kagad with SF and almost always SF winner ko..
my SF vicious Headlight
btw, dami pala asa Las PInas-Alabang area d2, tara EB na! sir Centum, kelan alis mo?

Hyundai charges into lead of quality study![]()
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19033640/
DETROIT - When it comes to car quality, think Korean.
Hyundai Motor Co. leads in five categories in the annual vehicle quality study released Monday by Strategic Vision Inc., a San Diego-based market research company and consultant to automakers.
Hyundai's rise in the rankings is only the latest sign of the improved overall quality and declining number of defects in today's cars and trucks, said David Cole, chairman of the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor.
"They're coming together to a point where the differences are almost meaningless," Cole said.
He said that means buyers will pay increasing attention to dealer service, new technology, fashion features, price and fuel economy.
Once known best as the maker of cheap, entry-level cars with nagging manufacturing flaws, the South Korean automaker outperformed its Japanese, European and U.S. rivals in this year's survey, based on interviews with 27,780 people who bought 2007 models in September-November 2006.
Last year, Hyundai had no winners. And highly regarded Toyota Motor Corp., despite improving its overall quality, went from four leaders last year to one in 2007.
"Even though Hyundai is often overlooked by the U.S. customer, Hyundai's success in 2007 is not surprising given its current products and ... leadership that is looking to the near and distant future with new designs from styling to powertrain," said Darrel Edwards, Strategic Vision's chief executive.
Hyundai's Azera led among large cars, and its Santa Fe led among small sport utility vehicles. Its Entourage was tied for best minivan with the Quest by Nissan Motor Co. and the Sedona by Hyundai affiliate Kia Motors Corp.
The Kia Sorento led among medium SUVs, Strategic Vision said.
BMW AG led in three individual categories plus best overall brand, and Nissan, Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler AG led in three each.
Strategic Visions asks buyers to rate all aspects of their new vehicles, from the purchase itself to the ownership and driving experience.
What's new this year is not who's first or second, but rather how satisfied buyers are in general, said company President Alexander Edwards.
"Everybody's doing a terrific job — that's the news," he said.
Based on a 1,000-point scale, the average new vehicle was rated 864, up from 861 in 2006 and 831 in 1998. As a result, he said, "cues of quality" rather than the number of defects "have a greater impact on the purchase decision."
Overall, Volkswagen AG had the highest corporate average, followed by Honda Motor Co., General Motors Corp., Toyota and Hyundai. Among brand names, BMW was followed by Infiniti, Mercedes Benz, Mini and Jaguar.

Hello Tsikoteers. Consider me a neophyte for most part (threading, etc). Have to tell all of you though that your very objective exchanges has been very helpful in figuring out what next car I should buy. I've read through this thread the past month and you guys seem to share the passion and satisfaction for your SF's.
I plan to purchase a 7-seater SUV with reasonably bang for the buck and decent fuel economy. I'm down to the Innove V and Santa Fe. I'll make the dive this July-Sep (just waiting for corporate budget to be approved)
I've test driven the Fortuner and the SF CRDI. And damn the SF is one sweet ride. The Fort may be ruggedly handsome but the SF is one ***y beast!!
Regarding fuel consumption..Need confirmation from you SF owners if you don't mind. Is below a safe assumption to make?
SF 4X2 CRDI: City (8 km/L) while Mixed/Highway ( up to 10 km/L)
SF 4X4 V6 Gas : City (7 km/L) while Mixed/Highway ( ???)
Actually, sagot naman gas ko ng company but just the same. I don't feel comfortable with an SUV who chugs gas ( 4-6 Km/Li)
Hope you can help me out further. I'm a 99% future SF owner...Just need to make the decision on whether to get the V6 or the CRD-I.
Your thoughts will be highly appreciated SF tsikoteers. Thanks a million (or should I say 1.5 MM) in advance. Cheers!!!
SF Tsikoteers;
Forgot to mention in my post above to feel free to comment and share your
thoughts (not only on fuel consumption ) on SF CRDI vs V6 Gas.
Currently, I'm inclined more on the V6 coz of the 4wd-On demand, Dual Zone AC, and dual airbags. But the unit i test drove was a CRDI ...and WOW! Hayop sa bilis, parang hindi diesel ( felt kasing bilis ng 3.0 Fort V ).
Hope to hear from all you. Sir Minero; from the thread you were the only one i identified to have a V6 so feel free to share your views.
I'll be travelling to Kuala Lumpur tom till Wed but I'm sure I'll have internet access at the hotel. Kayod muna ko para sulit
pagbigay ng kumpanya ng SUV.![]()
get to the CRDI buddy. its like a gas-fed car but is very fuel efficient. my pure city driving gets 8-10km/l, mixed is 9-11km/l at pure highway above 12km/l.
4x4? get the CRDI 4x4 for 1.64M, 90-day waiting time.
The reason I picked the gas against the dieasel is the security of driving an AWD vehicle. If the diesel AWD is available then then I'd pick the diesel. Besides I am not really worried about fuel consumption because our daily travel is within 5 km of our home. Farthest travel within city is airport and MOA. Regular provincial travels are Batangas, Baguio and Ilagan, Isabela hence the need for an AWD. I have not calculated my FC during provincial trips really. I drive with a heavy foot and I like to hataw my SF so my consumption will be high. As for city my wife (she's the regular driver) gets around 7 km/l. She's a full time mom so she gets to pick what time she does her shopping and avoid traffic hours.
If your budget permits take the diesel AWD. To me this is the best value for money among all SUV's.
Sir Yuichi: Thank you for your inputs. Oo nga, CRDI is becoming the wave of the future and Hyundai's i believe is one of the best in the market. Nagtanong na ko HARI and dealers, ang lupit ng waiting time for the 4wd CRDI (60-90 days) nakakamatay sa sabik. But the SF CRDI is definitely fast and engine noise is very low.
Sir Minero : Salamat sa input. Right now I'm looking at either the CRDI or V6 4WD. Just need to make the decision soon. Ok lang sa kin the Php 1.64 MM for the CRDI, value for money naman eh. And as for the 7 km/Li..definitely not bad at all. Meron naman akong gas allowance eh.
Salamat sa inyong dalawa uli. I'll be closely following this forum and hopefully the next time I post I will be an SF owner myself.
I looked at the sta.fe yesterday. Question lng, any difficulty in changing tires? And is the spare tire a full size one or a space saving spare?
All the wheels are the same, including the spare. It's on the same magwheels too. So if you change your tire, it's not obvious.
