i totally agree with you sir. but i think HARI wa forced to enforced a strict one price policy due to the stiff competition between dealers.. i guess some dealers complained due to the better sales of other dealers offering better deals.. but HARI just found a good excuse on the 5 year extended warranty..
HARI should allow its buyers and enterprising dealers to practice their previous marketing strategies and bring back the discounts and freebies..
i for one is affected by this, i will be getting my sta fe this month without the 40t discount and freebies others got before july 2. sayang...
you're right sir. Accdg to 1 dealer, HARI implemented the 1 price policy bec of the complaints from some dealers. either its true or mayabang na ang HARI thinking that hyundai sales would still be the same even w/o the discount.but HARI shouldn't forced the one price policy coz kasalanan ng mga swapang na dealers kung hindi sila bumebenta. kung kaya ng ibang dealers na magbigay ng malaking discount plus freebies then why hind kaya gawin ng iba? it all boils down to "kagahaman"! whatever happened to free enterprise? paging the brainchild behind HARI's 1 price policy!
But i think this 1 price polcy wouldn't last long coz 1 SA told me 6 buyers nila ng Starex ang nagback-out bec wala ng discount. that should serve as a wake-up call to HARI

any tips how to protect the paint?
thats the usual line of dealers, that they will raise prices soon so would be buyers will buy the units asap.. but i guess the prices of hyundai depends also on the dollar peso exchange rate. so when the rate fell to as low as P45:$1, they were able to offer big discounts.. as it is, the sta fe is a bit pricey compared to other suvs, but it is saleable due to its features..
increasing the price would be a turn off to would be buyers..
For those interested, one Hyundai Dealership is offering 20K Discount and may offer also free LTO for SF. PM me if your interested. Thanks.
*milkyway thanks sir
Tataas na presyo ng Hyundai?
buti nalang nakabili na kami hehe
Good morning Tsikoteers...
I have been monitoring this thread for some time now and have posted before to get feedback. It seems that SF is a good buy. But the recent posts have informed me of HARI's removal of the discount. I believe HARI needed to hear feedback from current and future SF owners so i sent them a message thru their website. Just wanted to share the note i sent to them:
To Sales and Marketing department:
Feedback from a potential buyer...
I was informed of the good news by one of your dealers that HARI has extended warranty to 5 years, however, I was also told that discounts were discontinued.
I suppose its part of HARI's marketing strategy to build the rep of Hyundai thru offering the best warrantly in the local market today. But for serious buyers like me, removing the discount is a big turnoff. The Santa Fe is a good buy, based alone on consumer and expert feedback globally BUT you just made the SF HIGH priced compared to the leader(Toyota's fortuner). I do hope that you re-evaluate your strategy and implement pricing parity via a STANDARD & ATTRACTIVE discount (say 50K like what you were offering for the Starex before) to eliminate dealer price undercutting INSTEAD of COMPLETELY REMOVING the discount.
Please consider coz you might lose serious and potential buyers. Me and my friend plan to buy an SUV in Sep. Based on this development, the fortuner just became the more practical choice.
Thank you and good day
If you have similar concerns, might be a good idea to send them a similar note to exercise the power of the buyer. Good day to all of you.
just a thought...if you standardize the discount...den why dont you just adjust the sale price down across the board...isnt that the same? the problem with philippine buyres is that we always seem happier when we get "discount" ...we got used to buying in tiangge...laging may tawad...
i think it is the prerogative of the dealer to give discount or not...the discount should then be taken away from the selling commission of the dealer...of course, the main distributor (HARI) will always have the prerogative of dictating whether they will allow the dealers to give discount or not...if dealers violate, then they get cut...its their way of protecting their image.
for all you know, they will just adjust the price up across the board...then eventually allow dealers to give discount again...so back to square 1...its all a marketing ploys...and its up to the buyers whether they will bite this or not...bottom line is...
so bottom line is...whether there is discount or not...do you think the price is worth the product (net net...whether they call it "discounted" price or not....). if you believe price is too high...then dont buy...and look at your other options...if you have any...
tingin ko talaga tatanggalin nila yan discount. timing talaga importante. it just so happens na introductory ang Sta Fe since last year. ngaun nagkaron ng demand, they removed the discount.
The Starex should have discount considering na parang Mitsu Adventure/L300 na ito sa luma. pero mukang in demand din ang Starex ngaun.
nowadays kasi madami na pinoy inuuna practicality kaysa yabang, that's why starex is selling like hotcake. after all, wala na naman status quo ang tsikot ngaun unless you drive a BM or Benz or 2-door sportscar or 2M+ SUV
way back Feb, yan din ang dilemma ng dad ko wait for the new CRV or buy a Starex. wi-neigh namin, since 4x2 cuv's are over 1.2M malamang CRV will fall in that price level. and so it did. tapos gasoline pa and syempre no freebies, no incentives kasi bago. good decision talaga yun Starex kasi gamit na gamit, sobra tipid dami pa naisasakay, puwede pa pa-driver, hindi naman ganun kainit sa mata. in just 5 months of operation, na-ovetake na nga nya ang mileage ng Aug 2006 Santa Fe ko
so kung wala man discount ngaun, pero makikita mo na malaki benefits ng vehicle para sa iyo in the long run, worth pa din yan.
sa ngaun kasi, yun mga Toyota, Honda, Mitsu para ka na din bumili ng Sony Bravia LCD TV compared to a person who bought a cheaper Samsung, LG. ganun pa din naman, nakakaraos manood ng TV series, DVD with same quality araw-araw. so ano lamang ng Sony ... brand lang. and of course opportunity from the extra money you shelled out with the brand. opportunity for Sony that is, not you ...
sa laki ng savings namin mag-aama by using Hyundai's since last year (getz, starex, sta fe), na-maximize pa din namin ng husto yun resources like saved money.
