Sir Dragonheart,

I had my engine repaired kasi and I cant remember the original cover. My SF is the 2008 model. Sabi ng casa, ganun talaga ang cover but I refuse to believe them kasi ang pangit naman kung nakaexpose yung mga wires sa bandang likod.

If yours is the 08 model, then dapat nga magcomplain ako kasi hindi pareho yung covers natin. TIA

I got mine sept 07.. you can probably check if they have a v6 on display sa casa...

Aba syempre 5 star rating ata ang Santa Fe natin. Maganda nga yung pagka crumple eh durog harap pero yung passenger compartment didn't even got scathed...

sorry for nitpicking, but Philippine spec. is not 5 star. we're missing alot of the Airbag at front, and on side-curtain. without those i believe the score can go down as low as 3star lang.

It happens to me before and i blame it to the turbo timer which was newly installed that time...i called up the shop and he ask me if my tranny was on D mode..then i found out that it was on D mode nga...safety features po yan ng Sf natin...

Nothing to bow about. Almost all a/t cars have this feature. Possibly all new a/t cars are like this.

Well better have a sturdy body and no airbags then have airbags without a sturdy body. Maskin may airbags ka pa if the passenger zone gets hit siguradong serious injury yan or death... At least we know the SF has the body to past 1st world countries stricter safety requirements, not so sure though with its Asian designed rivals?

kahit 10 star pa ang safety rating, keep in mind those crash tests are done at 40 kph. the only stars you will see in a 40 kph crash will be the ones going around your head. and at 200 kph you will not see them at all. ingat lagi mag-drive.

Normally developing countries have lax safety standards kaya nga pansin mo even cars WITHOUT airbags are sold here... A lot of safety equipment is still considered luxury here... But the good thing is if you know your car is being sold also in developed markets then at least the body must have met their standards... Normally car makers cut corners to save costs as lon as they comply with the law on the market they intend to sell it to...

nun dinadala ko starex namin, hinataw ko din, tinanong nya ulit ako kung may airbag daw yun, sabi ko wala, eh ikaw, meron.

I think yes, new SF is coming soon. Here in Thailand Hyundai started again to sell their products. Pero no SF sa showroom, probably, they are waiting for the new release. IMO, maybe timing is essentail for them kasi medyo strong ang competition dito sa Thailand. Compare sa sa Toyota and Mits, sigurado medyo mahihirapan ang Hyundai to level their price with these two makers.

I hope Hyundai can generate market here by launching SF with a big bang.
