Oh surely once naupgrade mo na Santa Fe mo talbog kaming lahat kasi upgrades mo all in one go![]()
Got my RaceChip PRo today (Thanks Sir C190). Had it installed at Maspro (took about 25 minutes). It can be done DIY style but you have to remove a lot of screws, the intercooler, and the engine cover before you can reach the plug. Sir Benjie tie the chip on a metal bracket which made it look real clean.
As for the performance;
Sir Ghost Hunter was right, the idling rpm went up to 800rpm. Acceleration has improved. with the racechip installed, you'd thought the stock engine management felt "sakal". its like putting on free flowing filter. Acceleration is acheived faster because the engine revs easier.
Is it worth it? i'd say "yes". but pls note that this is a plug n play device, no setting of any kind. that means that you can't tune it with a laptop.
I was not able to take pictures during the actual installation.
these pics were taken when i got home;
racechip installed on passenger side engine bay.
View of the engine bay my unit is 2.2 4x2. arrows denotes things that have to be removed before racechip could be installed.
Will update on the FC of this setup in the future.
PS. I would like to thank Ma'am LR for letting have her racechip unit and Sir C190 for buying this unit for me.
Ah yes kanina pumunta din ako sa Maspro pinakita nga sakin yan ni Sir Benjie eh... May kukuha daw nyan, ikaw pala yun...
hehehe dalawa na tayo malalakas na SF dito
anyhow, it took so much time for the chip installation. the way to do it is just unscew two bolts at the front. remove the oil dip stick. pull the back portion of the engine cover upward, this should unplugged this from the two rubber socket. then pull the engine cover sideway. no need to remove the intercooler. saves lots of time.
btw, i have discussed with my german friend about this chip upgrade and he told me that this type of upgrade should come with less restriction air filters. so, let's buy K&N drop-in filters.
also guys, i explain this before about filters. that is why i specify the drop-in filter because some might think that K&N cone type will work. sorry guys, it simply won't work unless the suction area of the cone filter will be isolated from the air inside the engine bay.
drop-in filters are the same filters installed on your SF but it's made by K&N.
nice.... have u thought about your response to Hyundai if they void your warranty due to this MOD? for sure u wouldn't be removing it everytime u have to go for casa service right?
Sir Ghost Recon, The engine cover have 4 retaining screws. only 3 can be accessed without removing the intercooler. one is right under the intercooler. Maybe next time, i will do as you said and i might be able to get to the screw just by lifting the intercooler assembly.
Thanks for the drop in filter advice, will look around for those.
but i think Sir Benjie have some KN filters on stock....
