parang magkasinglaki lang. Mukha lang malaki ang CRDI because of the turbo and the intercooler.

meron ako suggestion sa set-up na to but it's up to you to decide...

it's nice to look but it doesn't perform as what everybody thinks as it is.

there is more oxygen in cold temperature than in hot temperature. that is why some engine specially those equipped with turbo have intercoolers mounted in them to have a constant cold or ambient temperature. more oxygen means more combustion when mixed with fuel therefore more power. this set-up is only good when the temperature inside the engine bay is cool which happens during start-up (this is when you feel your engine is kicking). however, after prolong driving the power will diminish as hot air comes in because there is now less oxygen needed for combustion. the result, less power and more fuel.

enthusiasts who wanted to have a continuous engine power but with less money to burn usually fabricate scoop somewhere in the front bumber to catch more cold air as their speed rise.

bottom line is more oxygen, more power.

I got mine july of 08. I guess mali yung kinabit nilang engine cover after I had it repaired. I will post more pics para makita ko kung ano pang mga differences. Thanks

    Hi guys!!
Sir tidus is correct kasi kung i post natin tung mga ka comparo natin eh baka ma ulit uli yung dati na under attack ang forum natin..apat yung tinest ko na makers...but for the choke?? i dont think so i can hear their engine roaring...pero Idol ko pa din si sir TFR pag dating sa star toll speed di ko kaya yun..and share ko lang po kasi last year nasagi ako ng truck sa may buendia makati and na damage yung front tire ko lacerated sya..nag pa repair ako sa casa then pinalitan nila yung tire ko ng hankook..* first ok lang sa akin kasi ginawa kong spare tire but unfortunately nag karoon ng konting damage sa tirewall yung nasa front ko which is kumho..now the problem is its not covered by the warranty because its my fault ( na gutter kasi) so i cant use my hankook kasi different thread pattern sila so what i did is to place it at the rear na lang..hope this wont happen to you guys..but when it happens insist to replace it with the same brand and same thread pattern

this is the result of my chip upgrade...

increase is not much. if some SF users want to have this upgrade, be sure to remember how your SF's react when your a/c's are shut-off. because you will experience the same even if your a/c's are engage with this chip installed to your engines.

this is where i noticed also that our SF is applying more torque on the front wheels (4x4 models only) at the normal driving condition because during my test the car tries to swerve on my right as i put more gas.

Sir GR, Pls expound on the testing with a/c switch off... do you mean to say that w/o chip installed:

Our SF will be faster (feel faster) with A/C off than with A/C on?

    with the chip installed.

The SF will feel the same whether the a/c is on or off?

    thanks

it simply means that your SF will be more responsive with the chip installed.

i made that statement so that anyone who thinks of chip upgrade will start to observe how their units behave and run when their A/C is switch off before the chip upgrade so that they'll have their comparison and satisfaction.

with the chip upgrade (upon my observation), my SF is very responsive even when the A/C is engage. it feels like the A/C is off although the A/C is engage.

that is the closest thing of observation i could share since there's no dyno here to prove.

alam ko na ibig mo sabihin GR, nata-timing kasi na minsan pag apak ko ng accelerator e off ang a/c (on automatic) e parang umaalma ang santa fe, like feeling racer siya. parang 3/4 ang apak sa gas e in fact slight lang naman. many times na ko napagalitan ng aking kumander dahil dyan, bakit ko daw binibigla apak sa gas e normal lang naman apak ko. then after a few minutes mag-kick in ang a/c maririnig mo yung click ng a/c clutch so naka-off pala yung a/c nuon. big difference yan GR, lakas ng torque. but then i can just turn the a/c off

*Mam LR, may I suggest sa SFclubPhilippines magkaroon ng kanya kanyang folder ang member? the member can upload their photos on upgrade and maybe some information on DIY or anything with their SF?
