never ako bibile nyan, given that it has all the toys there is, even surpassing the Everest / Wildtrak toys, yun itsura nya bland for my taste. i dont like long looking vehicles or a station wagon like SUV haha. kaya lang naman ako nagpo-post dito kasi nag-papractice ako ng marketing and persuasion eh. I like boosting potential market disruptors. Those are really boring lines, reminiscent of the old Mitsubishi Outlander SUV dito.

pag natabi mo pala sa Tucson eto CRV, sobrang maawa ka sa daan kung nakasakay ko sa CRV but then again dami naman electronics CRV eh ahaha

Ano kaya projected sales nito gas and diesel variant.... at nearly 1.6million. Mag ka hype kaya ito sa first 3months..

Yung outgoing crv na mas mura eh itong lang benta for the ngayon month of may or june ata ito... Lamang lang ng dalawa sa alto. at ang nakakagulat may nabobola pa pala rav4

Hmm basing on what happened hyundai sante fe before, crossover sold for 1.5m pesos (2007), daming bashers regarding reliability, lifespan etc in the end nagkaroon ng market share.

Same might happen sa crv only time will tell.

Also wondering why complain about this being underpowered. Maybe the goal is toward efficiency.

    Just my 2 cents

May reason naman to bash Hyundai. I own a tucson at hindi ko gusto. Service sa casa hindi ganun kaayos. Tapos ang ibang parts buwan ang iintayin. Wala kaming aircon for 2 months!

Wonder if the 7-seater will ride stiffer than the 5-seater variant ... usually there's a compromise in riding comfort when a 3rd row is added ... the Honda CR-V V diesel variant is the lowest model in the lineup ...

X-trail's 2nd row also slides forward bro. Would you know if the 120ps engine is mechanically the same as the 160ps version?

Oops sorry bout that. So it means the X-Trail I tried before already had its 2nd row forward yet I could barely fit in the 3rd row. 😑 it was nice to drive though, very refined and comfortable - a stark contrast to truck-like PPVs.

That's what I'm interested to know - what spells the difference between the 120 and 160 hp engines. Is it just a matter of ECU mapping, or is the turbo smaller for the 120 hp, or are the internals not as reinforced? That should give us an idea of the tuning potential of the 120 hp engine.

so the diesel variants uses the same 4 wheel drive on demand na present even sa first gen CRV. eh di para ka na din naka 4x4 neto pero you can't choose, the car will choose for you. totoo ba'to all diesel variansts? if this true, grabe lamang na kagad ang CRV dito sa lahat ng PPVs

still a softroader OB. gravel roads. beach with firm sand. don't even dream of taking it to the sand dunes of ilocos. or pinatubo. places not even all 4x4 ppvs can go.

when i was in sagada last april there was a group of fj cruisers that tried going to the big falls. our tour guide told me they failed misserably to conquer the slippery rock trail and had to turn back. paano pa kaya kung softroader lang?

Got word from a Sales Executive from Honda in Marcos Highway:

    2.0 S CVT (5-seater) = PhP 1.539 Million

    V Diesel 9 AT (7-seater) = PhP 1.569 Million

    S Diesel 9 AT (7-seater) = PhP 1.759 Million

SX Diesel 9 AT AWD (7-seater) = PhP 2.049 Million

EDIT: Meron na palang post from yesterday. Sorry.

If you're thinking about the overall interior capacity and comfort, i'm pretty sure it's at par if not better than most of the competition in its class. The BRV's or Mobilio's 3rd row is not that bad actually given that they're way smaller in exterior size.
Honda has always been excellent in maximizing interior space without having to expand the exterior.

Yep, hobbits only at the back. 😀 Looks like it's going to be a pass for us for the CR-V as well. We really need a usable 3rd row.

I wish more manufacturers would make long wheelbase versions of their CUVs ala Santa Fe.

    Finally back online. Whew.

    Some thoughts:

    On the Engine:

We really thought they'd bring in the 158 hp variant for the TOTL. Every other country has the AWD mated exclusively to the 158 hp variant. During the speech, they noted that we are unique in the ASEAN region because our variant packaging is different. According to my encyclopedic friend whose name begins with a "U", there were concerns about fuel additives and quality for the 160 ps diesel.

It might still happen. But not yet.

One of the big differences is the turbo. Both FWD and AWD get the same single scroll turbo here.

    On the Space:

The five seater has more cargo space, of course, but one bonus of the seven seater that most overlooked is that the second row slides far, far back. In its rear-most position, the second row of the seven seater is about an inch or two further back than the second row of the five seater.

That said, in its rearmost position, the second row sits right under the rear AC assembly, which is bulky, so taller guys will feel the pinch (tall, in this case meaning over six feet).

The third row is tight, obviously. No space for adult feet with the second row all the way back.

But with the second row in the same position as in the five, your feet will fit under the seat. Honda has adjusted the seat rails so that there are pockets for your feet between them.

With the second row scooted forward, a six footer will fit in both second and third. Knees against the second row seat back, but he'll fit. Those five and a half feet or shorter will fit comfortably in the third. You can recline the third, and it is nice, but your head will hit the rear glass if you're over 5'3". Much like the Santa Fe.

The big problem is egress. You cannot enter or exit the third row gracefully, even though the second tumbles forward.

    The rest of the mechanicals:

AWD gets bespoke suspension. Taller springs, 208mm ground clearance. Cast (instead of stamped) lower arms on the rear multi-link. Very ruggedized. All variants get fuel tanks with tubular tank guards and heavy-duty underbody cladding for better aerodynamics and underchassi protection.

All get liquid-filled suspension bushings and floating subframes. Expect Mazda-like NVH and suspension control, though not Mazda handling.

    The Price:

All three variants presented were ultra-loaded. All had the 7" touchscreen and back-up cameras, the same leatherette seats, the same 8-speaker audio system, and the same 18" mags. LED headlights. LED foglights. Etcetera.

Base gasser gets Toyo Proxes instead of Michelin tires. Traditional automatic shifter instead of pushbuttons. No rear ceiling AC, but still the same dual zone system as the other two (note CR-V gets rear console vents as standard). So it's a "base" model, but at 1.5m, loaded na. And without the rear ceiling AC, there's more headroom in the back.

Sweet spot I think is the 1.75m diesel. All the toys and diesel. Cheapest diesel only gets a standard head-unit, a 4-speaker sound system, 17" alloys, halogen headlamps and single-zone climate control (but still with roof-mounted rear AC). Leatherette comes standard, though, so it's not completely stripped.

AWD gets Honda Sense, power tailgate, panoramic sunroof, pushbutton automatic shifter, AWD, etcetera. Honda knows it will only sell in limited numbers, but they needed a halo car, anyway, so they loaded it to the gills. Taller guys complained about the headroom with the sunroof, though.

    -

Say what you will about the price, but I think this will do a whole lot better than the previous model.
