Looks like we'll be getting the lower-specced diesel engine made in India, along with India.

sounds like it will be priced competitively. hope it will be more efficient for our ever worsening traffic...

118hp is more than enough for metro traffic.

What's important for anything below 80 km/h is gearing and torque. It's only over 80 km/h, on the way to the highway limit, that you'll really feel the lack of power.

If they just started producing the engines, what are the chances Honda launches it here before the new taxes kick in in 2018?

What could be the reason for detuning? Because of difference in emission standards? Wouldn't this make the car less efficient because of worse power to weight ratio with same displacement engine?

    How fast do you drive?

You only need 30-40 hp to maintain 80 km/h on the highway.

    118 is more than enough.

The only time it will not be enough is if you are trying to overtake at 120+.

So buy something with a more powerful engine so it will be a lot quicker.

Personally i don't mind much about the 118bhp. It's the presumed starting price of 1.6m plus that's going to be my main hurdle
