SOP ng pulis to file charges but dismiss yan sa prosecutor, since police can't judge kung sino may kasalanan.

Blame the media in the country.

Misleading headlines and tabloid style writing kasi ang main target market nila... (I'll stop myself there)

    Ex:
"Sunog at apoy sa bahay! Nagbabaga!!!"

Basahin mo yung article and it turns out, yung sunog nasa kusina, kasi nag iihaw ng barbeque.

Example lang po yun, but I think you guys get what I mean to say...

They may have gotten used having no repercussions from breaking traffic laws, but these people forget that the laws of physics always apply.

a law of physics that's frequently violated:
    "nawalan ng break."

    my take:
the breaks were not lost. they were merely overwhelmed by the big momentum, generated thus:
    1. going too fast; and/or
    2. carrying a heavy load.

    Naman kasi.

Some people are fooled by the illusion that their vehicle's exceptional maneuverability, capacity to slip through tight spaces and phenomenal acceleration gives them invincibility and other "super powers"...

Actually, if they keep it up long enough, it will confer them the ability to pass through solid objects, flight and inter-dimensional travel... by premature separation of the soul from the body

i once asked a motorcycle rider who was snaking his way thru traffic, why they (motorsiklistas) would not simply fall in line like the cars.
    "motor ito", was his reply.
so yes, they appear to have this air of "superiority". i use the word uncomfortably, because it somehow does not convey what i mean inside, but i can not think of a better word.

    then again,
i asked an office colleague who rode a two-wheeler,
    "sir, gusto ko lang maka-uwi."

I think all of us here understand naman what you are trying to say.

I did post some time ago that in these past years, driving has become even more hazardous with these erratically driven vehicles around us. That’s how reality has changed for us, so we must adapt, and put our years of driving experience to use.

I spoke to an officer of a riding club (motorcycle enthusiasts) and he said with disdain:

So basically, we are now surrounded by a bunch of relatively newly minted motorists on 2 wheels, not any less dangerous than an inexperienced driver on 4, but harder to evade and foresee. Natural selection weeds out the foolhardy, stubborn or careless with expensive, painful or fatal lessons.

At least 11 killed in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental truck crash
    Published January 13, 2022 6:33pm

The vehicle was traveling to a beachside resort for a postponed Christmas party on Wednesday when the driver lost control after the brakes apparently failed on a downhill section of road.

Around 50 people were crammed into the truck, most of them in the open tray, when it veered off the road and into a tree.

The vehicle then flipped over onto a pile of rocks, Balingasag municipal police chief Major Teodoro De Oro said.

This I completely agree with. So as not to add fuel to the fire and to be unbiased. Use of "daw, raw, sinasabi" makes it unbiased yet very reportorial indeed.

    that is,
if he even saw the other vehicle at all...

while it is not illegal per se for a one-eyed driver to drive in the country, one still has to be a holder of a legitimate driver's license.

I'm one eyed and I still bump into people during rush hour sa mall because of blind spot. That's why I stopped driving.

"The North Ave U Turn has been closed for a long time now and yet it keeps on directing riders towards it.
