Happened at the intersection of J.P. Rizal St. and A. Bonifacio St. here in Marikina. This is just after getting off Marikina Bridge. Left turners from A. Bonifacio to J.P. Rizal are allowed most times of the day, but crossing either way in J. P. Rizal isn't. Coming from J. P. Rizal you have to get under the bridge to go to the other side. So the SUV is clearly at fault, although the rider share a great deal of blame either. He's riding at an unsafe speed especially there is the intersection there. Pedestrian, if not vehicles, may suddenly cross or sometimes there are taxis there that makes a U-turn just a few meters after the bridge.

that dark tint on the fortuner probably kept the fortuner driver safe from the sun and that speeding rider.

To be honest, kaya may paranoia na ako every time I get to an intersection.

Kahit halimbawa nasa lugar pa ako (ex. green light) or may right of way man, hindi mo masabi kung may sira ulo na bigla na lang haharurot- kotse man or motor.

Note: Hindi ko rin kinukunsinte yung SUV since sabi bawal daw ata yung ginagawa niya (di ako familar with the place).

In any case, as pointed out nga, common sense should prevail. What if you're condemned to spend the rest of your life paralyzed from the neck down for example?

Akala nila pag tama sila, superman sila [emoji1787]

Agree. As I stated in my original post the SUV has no right to be there. At the least, he is an inconvenience and a hazard sa mga sasakyan na nanggagaling sa tulay. At most, ayan at aksidente nga mangyayari. From the comments, mukhang patay daw yung rider. Not to beat a dead horse so to speak, pero the rider shares the blame also dahil sa sobrang bilis nya magpatakbo.

May rule of thumb diyan eh I only go as fast as how my brakes can handle a sudden stop, especially nga kung may sasakyan sa unahan... or in approaching intersections.

Pero madalas naman may enforcers diyan who can either guide you, or pwedeng mapagtanungan.

As what I always point out also. You may have the right of way, pero it could be that you sustain the greater damage. Suppose the accident affected the vehicle's frame, and sasagutin naman ng other party.

About naman sa intersections, I always approach it more alert with the brakes than the gas pedal. How alert will depend na lang kung may countdown timer ba si stoplight or kung regular traffic lights lang. Kahit nga yung green from standstill di ka rin pwedeng basta sumugod na lang kasi daming mga kamoteng beating the red light.

Kamote riders think they are eternals they risk life and limb to get to a place a few mins faster... I don't see the logic of risking your life like that.. parang walang kwenta na halos buhay nila sa actions nila.. sadly.

Besides, it might not be safe na hindi obvious or nakikita ng driver sa likod mo- for example, pag left turn ko at a cross shaped intersection, may mga sira-ulong motor na nag counterflow pala into the lane you're turning into (madalas na yan ngayon).

    i wonder,
why are these timers off, in a number of stoplights?
    sayang naman at hindi ginagamit...

True true.

Happened to me also. Dito naman sa may 20th Avenue sa Cubao. So I was waiting for the countdown timer. One time lang naman ito as I was really in a hurry at that time. Otherwise, I wait for the green light mismo before I go.
