hi! i posted a thread before asking for help in buying a mini-SUV, and you guys were great! i finally decided in getting a ford escape (which i fell in love with!!) but when we were about to purchase it this guy who buys and sells cars told us that there have been lots of complaints about the escape, something about the engine that he didn't want to elaborate on, sabi lang niya ipagtanong ko raw... :confused: hindi kaya sa old models yun? he didn't say kung yung 2005 escape yun...

should i think twice about buying an escape?

Its supposed to give 20% more horsepower and 20% better mileage than the 2.0 liter Escape.. Any owners out there who can validate this ? :-)

Merong problem ung 3.0 V6..stalling problems pero naresolve na ng recall. Ung sa 2.0 may problema ang manual transmission.

Mas okay daw ung 2.3L..may nagpost dati around 7-8 km/L city driving..syeet sarap.

tanong ko lang ang escape 3.0 L po ba malakas ba sa gas pang city drive lang . from sucat to espanya from mon to friday , ok ba 3.0L ang kunin ko or mag 2.3L lang ako ty

Kung city driving lang (or mostly), you dont need the 3.0 liter version.. You can save a lot (on the car and on fuel) by getting the 2.3 version

kung gusto mo ng 2.3L with moonroof, pwede ka rin mag Mazda Tribute. same chassis and engine.

You could use the extra power when the need arises. Just ease off the gas pedal when driving around the metro to extend your mileage a little bit further.

reklamo actually bro ko sa consumo ng 2.0L escape niya but i doubt it, i think driving habits nya ang malakas sa consumo hehe... ok naman ata

but... mababa ang top speed ng V6 na escape, if im not mistaken, yung speedometer niya hanggang 180 lang, so more or less mas mababa doon ang top speed right? i mean for a V6 why ganyan lang ang top speed

The top speed of the escape is governed by the engine management system... replacing the engine chip removes the top speed limit... hmmm.. isnt 180kph dangerously fast enough for an SUV ? :-)
