Comments on Ford Escape!??

tanong ko lang kung sino meron nito sa mga tsikot members or kung sino meron kakilala that owns an escape.
i'm plannig to buy one in the future. any feedbacks and comments about this?

i got a chance to drive one for 4 days sa states..it had the v6 engine...actually i liked it better than my previous f150 kasi it was small and can fit anywhere and has a big interior for its size 3 adults at the back were comfortable..i drove through florida...e patag yun at hway lahat so i wouldnt know about the 4x4 capabilities..although yung nandito 4x2..if there was a unit available i could have owned one na here...e wala e...

The 4X4 is available here. Mas nauna pang inilabas kaysa sa 4X2.

anyway one more thing mas malakas syempre ang hatak at mas tahimik ang triton v8 syempre kaysa sa v6 ng escape so i would think na medyo mas mahina pa yung available dito..pero di ka naman siguro makikipagkarera so ok na rin cguro...

IMHO, the escape is the most rugged looking compact suv around (thats a compliment) :D

why we got the rav4 instead of the escape

- ford financing's add-on rates are REALLY high... if you are not going to get the escape through that scheme, you'll be at the bottom of their LONG waiting list
- the engine fitted is just not right for a SUV, it came from the focus and protege, which is more biased to hp than torque (theoretically of course since they don't accomodate test drives - what a turn off - but i got to test drive a ranger pinaturbo anyways)
- lousy 4wd system
- hiding the tire in the back ate up a LOT of vertical space
- they won't have it in yellow (that did it!)

why you should get the escape

- the 4x2 variant is reasonably priced, a big ESCAPE from the hordes of CRVs out there
- looks very muscular, especially if you get the roofrack and the grille (almost d same as the rav4 j series)

AWD or 4X2? Si kiper meron. Direct competition niya ang RAV4 at CR-V. Ewan ko lang sa gas mileage.
