first time na nagpa gas ako since i got my 2.3Liter Escape from ford alabang.
7.2Kms/Liter = combination of city/highway driving. I come from alabang everyday, pass by the south super highway rush hour (bumper to bumper) then head to my office in pasay. Going home hindi na masyadong traffic.
OK naman ride nya, very comfortable specially kung long distance drives... Why dont you test drive it yourself ? Saka tingnan mo din yung Maza Tribute, twin siya ng Escape but the suspension is tuned for a more sporty feel... cheaper too...
ibang iba ride nung late exped sa escape, yung exped parang boat ang ride di mo alam kung ano nang yayari sa gulong talagang comportable, escape yung pinaka supple ride along its class liks crv,rav etc..>>hehe
Actually if you did more research. Ford owns Mazda now and on some platforms Mazda ang gamit. From what I know Escape is a Mazda based platform. Kaya if you buy an Escape its like buying a rebadge Mazda. If you are picking between the 2 only the exterior and interior are different, mechanicals are the same. So hindi puwede basis that you like Escape over Tribute because of the engine, they are the same engine.
Same story din with Ranger, Everest, Lynx.
OT:
Did you know that Mazda produced one of the strongest racing engine?
A 2.6 liter quad-rotary engine none-turbo... 700+HP. That was back in 1991. Sayang FIA banned the engine type after being so successful the following year. It has been said that beyond imagination na ang domination of rotary engines if it was not banned. There was a rumor that mazda will try to enter F1 with this type of engine... quad rotary. Baka if this engine type was not banned hindi Ferrari domination ang makikita natin ngayon.

in the case of escape, it's actually mazda tribute using the ford engine. if the explorer is the best selling mid-size SUV in the US and worldwide, escape is the best selling COMPACT SUV in the US and worldwide.
thailand, the largest market for compact SUV in asia outside japan and used to be a market dominated by CRV, is now dominated by escape.
