I just checked the Ford site... even the Fiesta Car Models have no diesel engine here in the Philippines... I guess my wish that Ford Philippines would bring the Diesel Ecosport won't happen.

Demand for diesel cars and car-based crossovers in general is low in South East Asia, that's the reason most car companies don't manufacture diesel cars in the region.
Most diesel cars or car-based crossovers are either CBU from Korea or Europe.
If you read the article of Autoindustriya, they said that Trevor Worthington, Ford's vice president for Vehicle Development in Asia Pacific & Africa hinted that the 1.5 Ti-VCT engine will not be the only engine for the ASEAN EcoSport. The 1.0 EcoBoost and 1.5 TDCi are also being concidered, though I think there's a higher probability for the 1.0 EcoBoost since it's already in the facelifted Fiesta.
At the moment, the only plant that builds the diesel EcoSport is the Ford plant in India.

This is the Brazilian EcoSport which according to the article was introduced into their Long-term fleet in December 2012, Ford's plant in Brazil was the first plant in the word to produce the 2nd gen EcoSport back in 2012. If there are any bugs, it would most likely show up on these early build 2012 models.
The engine in this unit is a Ford Brazil 1.6 liter flex fuel engine (without Ti-VCT) that runs on gasoline or pure ethanol.
The version built in Thailand uses a 1.5 liter Ti-VCT engine that is E20 capable, same engine used in the ASEAN Fiesta.
According to the Brazilian article (translated from Portuguese):
"none of the defects condemns (the) design and (the) brand EcoSport now assumes the correction of them through technical service bulletins distributed to the network. Ford has done it in the first generation. And it worked."
I guess one of the advantages of Thailand being one of the last plants to build the EcoSport, they can adopt the latest fixes even before they begin production.

Engine is the same as the New Fiesta? Hence they may have the same FC or Ecosport will have higher FC the fact that body is heavier.
Anybody here has the actual FC of the New Fiesta? Fiesta owners please.
Am choosing between an Ecosport Trend AT vs the New Vios 1.3 AT
Expect it to be slightly higher, which is the case with any crossover SUV vs the car it's based on.
Vios 1.3E AT: city driving 10.2 km/L (Autoindustriya test)
Vios 1.5G AT: city driving 10.1 km/L (Top Gear Ph November 2013 Comparison test)
Fiesta 1.5 Titanium AT: city driving 9.7 km/L (Top Gear Ph November 2013 Comparison test)
Indian-spec EcoSport 1.5 Titanium AT: City driving: 8.46 km/L (owner in India)

I think you need to have that checked, that's probably the poorest FC figures i've heard off based on the FC figures of other Fiesta owners in the Ford Club Philippines forum.
In moderate traffic, city driving you should at least be getting 8+km/L, in light traffic you should be getting 9+km/L, some even reach 10km/L.
This is also close to the results in Top Gear Ph's review of the Fiesta 1.5 Sport.
Fuel economy does seem better than before, at 7.5-10km/L in the city and 15-18km/L on the highway. Eco-driving experiments suggest that over 20km/L is possible if you drive really, really, really slow.

Even if I have it checked they will just say that many factors account for the FC figures, light footing, airconditioning, etc. etc. I don' t think that they will bother checking my car for any problems regarding this as this value varies from person to person..
Also, I've read some of the posts from FCPh and I see that most of them are posting mixed city driving FC figures. I have yet to see one with the latest Fiesta and driving it in pure city traffic.
Try to drive it outside manila, try mo seaoil and unioil mas maganda fc ko... I dont know pero after ko maka 10k gumanda FC ko average ko now is 8.5 to 9.5 km/l light to moderate traffic w/ occasional short trips... My worst fc is 6.5-7km/l yung tipong 10 km trip abutin ng two hours thu 1.4 at sakin...

The problem is that I cannot drive outside Manila since the car was not really mine to begin with. I have brought it twice outside Manila, once to Sta. Rosa and once to Batangas to "break it in" but other than that I don't think there will long trips in the near future. Nasa almost 4k palang naman kami, so I'm still holding out for the FC to get better. Hopefully. 1.5 AT amin eh, so baka mas matakaw ng kaunti?
Very poor fc yung 6-7. I have 2011 1.6s. Currently 9km/l. At its peak. Mga 10-11. For some reasons stagnant na sya sa 9 city driving
What's your point of comparison?
I mean: What car did you drive on the same route before the Fiesta? Because comparing it to another car is the only way to tell if it's normal or not.
With the state of traffic, nowadays, outside factors DO make up a big part of what causes poor FC. Some competitors to the Fiesta can get 6 km/l or less in traffic.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
We don't own any other car other than the Fiesta. However my point of comparison is the Vios since it's known to be the best subcompact in terms of fuel economy aside from the Accent diesel (please correct me if I'm wrong on this one). When we were still during the planning phase of buying our car it was the only other option since other vehicles were not part of my parents' choices.
