Maybe they remove the limiter on the unit or sumthing, were you able to get the rpm before the redzone?

Ours is at 500+ kms so sandali na lang before the 1k pms,

Kung sa rektahan, pwede nang a little over 2k rpm.

Nung nagpa-service ako ng first 1000km check up kahapon gumanda ung takbo ng ecosport titanium namin. Nawala na ung jerking sa transmission. Pero iba pa rin ung ride ng previous xtrail namin compared to this one. Malakas lang talaga sa gas ung xtrail.

^^^ That's what some people also thought when they took the risk. That it depends on the driver and there's only a small percentage of buyers that are affected. Better pray you don't fall into that small percentage of buyers. Don't assume that people who are complaining here don't know how to drive or that you drive much more carefully than they do. Chances are they also have other cars and those do not have issues.

Will hold off purchase until issue is resolved. When the Mazda CX-3 or Honda HR-V come out, there'll be discounts already and no more D.I.

My brother in law who was a toyota agent before that is now with ford is convincing me to get an ecosport a/t. He told me the dragging problem during traffic could be avoided by always shifting to neutral when the vehicle is stopped for more than 10 seconds.

Isang advantage ng ecosport A/T is engine brake after accelaration. Lalo ung sa starex and pajero.

kung same ang powershift ng fiesta at ecosport sana na resolve nanyung TCM if not sakit sa ulo ito lalo na kung after warranty lumabas strict pa naman si ford pagdating sa warranty.

My uncle's Focus so far has no issues but the shuddering was present inslow crawl. It was more prevalentin his Fiesta 1.5.

For the Focus, I told him to just use the manual mode in traffic to force the transmission to just use first gear only so that it doesn't get "confused" and avoids the shuddering issue altogether which works.

The Fiesta I know does not have. I don't know if they equipped a manual override with the Ecosport or the newer Fiestas. But the only way you could avoid shuddering is if you have more torque on hand to use to push the vehicle (hence why I believe the Ecoboost engine prevents this issue from occurring).

I have not heard of Fiesta owner's with Ecoboost complaining yet of the shuddering issue. But if there are those with Ecoboost Fiestas who could weigh in, then it would be helpful. As it stands, the Ecosport looks like it will suffer more from the shuddering given the added weight for the same/similar power with the Fiesta 1.5, unless you have a manual override.

The transmission issue will surely surface on way or another as it looks like no matter what software upgrade they claim to have or will get, it is not suited for our type of traffic conditions.

My two cents. I'd just go with MT if I were to choose to avoid the hassle altogether or wait for Ford to release a version with a Manual override to the shifting for city traffic conditions (not that gaudy small push button at the shift lever - that was just dumb)

All new Powershift Fords have +/- manual mode, including the facelifted Fiesta and EcoSport models.
