E20 is available in Thailand, I read that E20 capable cars there also get lower tax.
Ah I see coz in your last post you wrote: "E20 capable only" so akala ko pang E20 lang ang Eco Sport hehe

    Sorry if it wasn't clear.
For flex fuel engines, manufacturers usually specify the maximum allowable fuel blend.

When I said "E20 capable only", I meant the ASEAN Fiesta's engines can only take up to E20 fuel (20% ethanol blend), as compared to the E85 capable engine mentioned by cripple_rooster.

imho, hindi practical for a dealer to offer two variants of gasoline CUVs dito sa'tin, bec. it's gasoline.

yun nga fiesta and focus, nakikita ko na redudancy eh. unless Ford concentrates on the diesel version of the Focus, and retain the gasoline fiesta. at least hindi competing ang sarili nila models.

though Kia has the soul and the sportage. pero parang nagsasayang lang ng resource ang Kia dun sa dalawang models na yun, none of which made it to mainstream pa din
The CX7 was actually sold in the PH market (Up-to-date model), but replaced by CX5; so it did not really jump the release of a new CX7 in favor the CX5. Mostly local car dealers do their feasibility study prior to any market sale or creation of segments so definitely, there are live markets which play and require different displacements of gasoline or diesel engines depends on a lot of variables. Probably for Ford as their study turned out, their market segment for their brand are interested in these types of engines. Similarly with your comment on "fiesta and focus redundancy", they are not redundant they place separate segments with their customer needs/wants per study.

Kia has played mainstream for several years and continuously becoming bigger. The Kia Soul and Sportage are sold in the PH market (Worldwide for that matter) therefore making it mainstream sold vehicle and not hidden in the cupboards like kept goods or a concept.

Do you mean the camo? They usually do that during early stages of development.
Prototype in camo testing in the US (December 2011) before the Concept version was unveiled in January 2012.

They'll probably put in the latest software updates and based on some photos, it looks like the EcoSport Powershift will also get +/- manual shift buttons on the side of the shifter.

:bwahaha: It kinda does, but I think it fits its character.

This probably makes it easy to identify from a distance or when you see one in your rear-view mirror. :D
