changed my fuel filter last october at napansin ko days after the filter change e nagjejerk ang engine when throttle is released suddenly from a high rpm but doesn't jerk if throttle is released relatively slow.

observed too that the engine feels a little sluggish.

is this a simple air entering the fuel system problem? i hope that the injection pump won't give up the ghost yet,

would a soft hose connecting the tank to the water separator-filter assembly contribute to the problem?

    thanks in advance dude!!!!
Have you sorted this out? If not, the following might help...

I too experienced stalling with my Adventure (also 4D56). I started to notice that it barely reaches 100KpH on the expressways, whereas it could reach 140KpH before. Nawalan ng rekta pero may hatak pa rin naman. DD advised checking throttle cable and changing fuel filter. Cable adjustment was fine. Changed fuel filter.

It was then that I experienced stalling. Lumala ang problema. Found out later that it was something I did earlier that caused it.

Mechanic 1 thought air was getting into the lines and suggested changing the priming pump. The solution was thankfully simpler and less expensive. Mechanic 2 suspected clogged lines. We pulled down the tank and cleaned it. Strainer had some sand (?) in it. Also removed a small strainer/filter in the injection pump located in the "in" line where fuel enters the pump. It's small and made of wire mesh. Cleaned it with thinner and compressed air. After we put everything back, she was back to her old self. Parang nagdahilan lang.

Like you, I also let the fuel level get tool low - up to the point where the warning light stays on. Maybe your pump sucked up dirt and got clogged.

The View passenger van is available only with the CRDi engine variant.
I haven't seen a Foton, and have no experience on this vehicle. Things to watch out for would be the CRDI system installed.......is it a Bosch. Denso, or a China system.

I would next look at riding comfort and noise level. Without mentioning vehicle brand/s, I've seen some new China vehicles with excessive vibration and unwanted in-cab noise. Some even had poor transmission gear ratios.

Best thing is to test drive the vehicle.

The system is a Bosch branded system. Everything from the computer box to the injectors has Bosch logos on them. Are these systems reliable and easy to fix should anything go wrong?

I've test driven the unit. The extra long wheelbase (even longer than the View ambulance) really helps soak up the bumps. Vibration is a bit high. Sort of like riding a Crosswind. Shifter feel is not very sporty but tolerable.

Bosch systems are reliable. Offhand, I would say that this common rail system can be repaired. But to be sure, I need to see this car to get more info like part numbers and availability of diagnostic software.

Another important matter to consider is dealer support.......... if and when the vehicle fails.

The engine is a clone of the Isuzu 4JB1-TC, btw. But the CRDi system is from Bosch.

The body of the van is a super long wheelbase, standard roof clone of an older model Toyota Hiace.

Support seems to be available so far. At least here in Metro Manila. The PCSO got 375 non-CRDi Foton Views to be given out as ambulances.

nasort out na dude....after the filter change, i changed also the fuel hoses (suction, feed, return). it was a loose clamp holding the return hose to injection pump. plus a timing belt and tensioner replacement too. so far so good.

    Sir dieseldude,

good day po!

    Salamat po and God bless.
