I too experienced stalling with my Adventure (also 4D56). I started to notice that it barely reaches 100KpH on the expressways, whereas it could reach 140KpH before. Nawalan ng rekta pero may hatak pa rin naman. DD advised checking throttle cable and changing fuel filter. Cable adjustment was fine. Changed fuel filter.
It was then that I experienced stalling. Lumala ang problema. Found out later that it was something I did earlier that caused it.
Mechanic 1 thought air was getting into the lines and suggested changing the priming pump. The solution was thankfully simpler and less expensive. Mechanic 2 suspected clogged lines. We pulled down the tank and cleaned it. Strainer had some sand (?) in it. Also removed a small strainer/filter in the injection pump located in the "in" line where fuel enters the pump. It's small and made of wire mesh. Cleaned it with thinner and compressed air. After we put everything back, she was back to her old self. Parang nagdahilan lang.
Like you, I also let the fuel level get tool low - up to the point where the warning light stays on. Maybe your pump sucked up dirt and got clogged.
