Looks like "low-end" seems to be quite relative. I always thought of a low-end phone as under 10k.

At the lowest end is probably the Huawei Honor X6B, a mid-2024 model touting good endurance with a 5200mAh battery; also has enough processing power, RAM and SSD space to play Mobile Legends well. Price: 5.5k without vouchers. Looks expensive too with the anodized finish + multiple camera look.

    Redmi Pad: 8/256, 18k : Mediatek Helio G99 (6 nm) / Octa-core (2x2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6x2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)

    Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+: 8/128, 15k : Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm) / Octa-core (2x2.2 GHz Kryo 660 Gold & 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 660 Silver)
    It's also on-sale at Shopee/Lazada for 12k

For phones too the Galaxy A25 is 8/256 5nm and 5G for under 20k
That samsung is a particularly good deal (especially at 11.2k if you go grey from lazada) but the redmi is priced too high as the 1 year newer Poco Pad 8/256 is 16k from lazada and that comes with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2

Charging EV goes up in flames, but firies say it wasn'''t the car'''s fault | CarExpert

Subsequent investigation by the Fire Investigation Unit found the blaze wasn’t caused by the Leaf, but rather by a “travel adaptor connected to an aftermarket charging lead, being used to charge the car”.

The fire not only destroyed the Leaf, but also significantly damaged a Hyundai Genesis parked next to it.

Fire Rescue Victoria has shared the story to warn EV owners about the dangers of using aftermarket chargers and cords, as well as items that don’t bear the Regulatory Compliance Mark.

It’s also warning owners of EVs to follow the manufacturer’s instructions when it comes to charging.

While Nissan includes a mode 3 EVSE cable with new Leafs, it doesn’t include a portable charging cable – colloquially known as a ‘granny cable’ – for use with standard domestic power points.

so, it would seem, it's not the product EV, but the associated accessory manufactured by a third party, that's causing it...
similar to some stories regarding cellphone chargers made by independent sources...

Hence why Shell Recharge Stations doesn't allow Adapters to their EV Chargers.

Getting 390km out of the advertised 500km range, especially with that sort of traffic sounds like a good result in my opinion.

Of course the problem is really when it's time to charge. Imagine if every car at the gas station took two hours to fill up.

At the end of the day EVs are just not suited for long distance travel. Best to keep the whole trip within the car's driving range, or have charging available at the destination and enough range to make it there with a good safety buffer.

On the radio this morning, I heard another case of ebike causing fire while charging overnight. Without government intervention, on proper import product inspection, this is a hazard all Filipinos are in danger.

    That is true.

But let's do note that the build quality of ebikes and passenger car EV's are as far apart as the division of rich and poor in the Philippines. Batteries and battery management systems are substantially different well.

Public Service Announcement from AC Mobility; this is for NCR only but I think we might see this rolled out outside MM eventually.

I hope this includes free parking in some EV charging places where there is a parking fee.

Lalo na mapupuno mga EV charging stations ng SM malls niyan sa Metro Manila.

    Dahil yan sa price.
Ang layo ng pricing ng Jap EVs compare to China EVs.
    Syempre, dadami Market share.
Pero kailan kaya ang hangganan ng pocket ng mga China EV car companies na to?
    Parang ang lalim eh.
